The thai restaurant soho below (separate from the hotel though) is really good. What did I like?? I had the worst time in my life!!! I stayed here before and then it was great, but now it was really the "hotel from hell"! This is a list of things that were not working: 1. Pool out of order (no notification upfront) 2. Skybar & terrace closed off (no notification upfront) 3. Wifi (has only worked for a while from Sunday-afternoon till Monday-morning, stopped again after that) 4. TV (no DSTV or any channels really) 5. Fridge (not cooling) 6. Stairs were not lighted and partly broken 7. Big bugs in the bathroom – several times also after spraying and cleaning 8. No phone (phones are mandatory in hotel in RSA) to call reception 9. No hot breakfast (eggs, as used to be) and broken toaster On the last day I fled the hotel at 6AM due to another big bug (hybrid form between millipede and spider) and the fact that the wifi could not connect to the internet at all. I have never had such a bad experience in my life. Several times I gave the staff the chance to fix things, which were promised but never happened. The most annoying bit is that I was asked when checking in to pay the outstanding balance before all these things were revealed to me. In hindsight this felt like they were aware and were avoiding being not paid completely due to lack of facilities and service. Yesterday I spoke to one of their managers Gerhard van Zyl and requested either a partial refund of my 4,800 Rand paid (4 days stay incl the weekend) or a voucher for the future for a few nights free stay (when everything is working again). He had promised me to discuss it with the owners and feedback to my YESTERDAY before COB. I have not heard anything again and will now take legal action as the experience was incredibly bad.

The restaurant was excellent, the sky bar is quite nice, especially at night it was a fight to get rooms in the hotel itself and not in one of the apartments close by. The one room we got was okay (although the aircon didn't work), the other was just a small basement room, not great. The "King Double/Twin Room with Shower" was ok, but we also had a "Luxury Double Room" booked, but I wouldn’t say that that is what we got.

Located in a safe part of town close to new redeveloped area and some bars and restaurants. I was not able to open either one of my two suitcases in the room, it's that small! Basically just bed can be in the room. Wi-Fi was not working in the rooms at all. Although they advertized "free parking", that was not correct, there is "free" street parking, if/when you can find some.

Great staff. Very helpful. Nice bar on roof. Reception area decor very nice. Rooms too small for price. Bathroom not comfortable and also too small. Breakfast selection not terrific. Restaurant too expensive. Overall, hotel over priced for value received.

The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful when my friend had some travel difficulties. They went out of their way to go the extra mile. The rooms were very clean and tidy. The rooftop bar has a great view of Table Mountain, and is the ideal place to enjoy a drink or make new friends. The restaurant is amazing with fabulous food, and breakfast is included in the price of the room. Thank you all for an amazing stay.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar nd plunge pool were real assets and provided great views of Cape Town and Table Mountain. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and interesting shops close by and its location makes the centre of Caper Town easily accessible. It is a relaxed, unstuffy but well-run hotel. Nothing. Parking can be a little difficult but mnageable.

The poximity to the mountain the sea and waterfront. The Soho restaurant had excellent food. The internet advertisement was misleading. There was no dedicated parking for residents, the aircon and extractor did not work. When opening the window, the smoke from the verandah and the roof-top bar came throught the window, The noise from the bar and people leaving the bar at midnight was very loud. The room was not a luxury room as advertised. It was difficult to move around the bed.

The roof top pool and bar.. Very relaxing atmosphere with a great view of table mountain. It was a nice, friendly, intimate place to stay in a good location. Very small rooms. The door to the room hits the bed - and we had to enter one at a time, and the lights in the bathroom didn't work.

Sky bar, pool and view from deck is all pretty nice. Location is very central. Rooms and hotel are in a very poor condition, unfinished and dirty. Hotel staff tried hard but just don't have a service orientation. No staff on the roof terrace. Noise was really bad at night from surrounding clubs and passers by. We couldn't wait to leave unfortunately.

The overall design was incredibly sleek and modern with great finishes and attention to detail... I thought the staff, though very friendly, seemed slightly disorganised. And I would prefer bolts on the doors...

Great rooms and a well layed out design. Excellent value Parking was a challenge and there was a concern about some of the homeless who were trying to scam people for money by offering to watch their vehicles.

“It was clean, in a location that is safe, has many restaurants and a shopping centre at its door step, within walking distance to the CBD, V&A Waterfront and easy to board transportation to the beaches. Most of all, the reception was warm, friendly and very helpful with information, sightseeing tips, and helped to book taxis. They even went out of their way to check and book Robben island tour for me online on an earlier date when the operator said that date wasn't available. Service was always with a smile.” Wing, Singapore |
