The Village Lodge is readily accessible and is only a 15min walk from the Victoria and Albert waterfront. The staff are sooo polite and sweet. Great food, great ambience, comfortable surroundings
No Wi-Fi onmm the rooftop bar, or the private patio of the Deluxe rooms
Staff, good-sized rooms, rooftop bar lovely
The room was little bit small and was not really the accommodation we were expected for and paid for ( no terrace as indicated in the reservation )
Close to the main attractions of the city and the centre Pleasant staff Modern and pretty place
Mattress was way too soft and pillows weren't great. Room needs a fresh coat of paint and TLC. Mirror in bathroom way too low.
Good value for money. Great little restaurant "Kos" fir coffee and breakfast.
Staff Sleep Condition Behave Price/condition Noisy
the rooms were in no way sound proof and there was a party upstairs one of the nights we were staying which made going to sleep difficult. wifi wasnt working in the room one night of our three night stay
the restaurant had the most amazing red velvet cake ive ever tasted!! great food, very friendly staff and good value for money
The rooftop ambience was super.
No free secure parking. Room was mouldy. Shower pressure very poor. Safe in the room didn't work. Noisy at night until about 2am with people coming and going to the bar upstairs.
Centrally located near bars and restaurants
lack of security, did not feel safe having door face into open area which did not look controlled; roof top bar with loud music not ideal upstairs; two walls in room falling apart with damp and most of the windows did not even close properly due to damp or lack of maintenance; no hairdryer? and then no two pin plugs?
convenient location and nice vibe in restaurant downstairs
A bit noisy
Great location in Der Waterkant... I chose this lodge as internet was included and the decor is contemporary. Great little restaurant with lovely smiley waitress. A bit noisy especially because of the rooftop bar upstairs but comfortable.
The room was rather small and a little tatty to be honest, dirty caroets and the shower needed a scrub. We were woken on two of the three nights by what can only have been rats chewing on wires in the ceiling. Eeek! The website indicates WiFi and cable, this is very misleading. The WiFi does not operate in the rooms. And the cable is really an excuse for 'cable'. One assumes that it would be DSTV when one sees cable. Parking is a real problem.
The location of the Village Lodge is perfect for the purpose of our trip - the Argus Cycle Tour. The bedding and towels were spotless. Staff are friendly. Walking distance from spar, restaurants, coffee shops a bonus.
Great Location, very friendly and supportive staff, cool place on the roof
what a misery we have never had such a poor room in south africa. we are visiting every year in february. that the room was very smal and tight, never mind, but the bedlinen torn, I dont want to know about the pillow stuffing, the furniture was very shabby ( not vintage, just used!) the small fridge just stood in the corner, broken, the wifi with all the salad on different passwords didnt work, it wasnt even available. The bathroom / tube! water run off grid broken, mouldy, disgusting. The door was tuckled. A katasstrophe. I will try to load up the pictures i took. Never again.
the whole property was in renovating state
The reception was poor, receptionist is incompetent! As well as the restuarant owner that is arrogant and meddles into the reception affairs causing a confusion. They should include the breakfast in the room rate.
The proximity to Cape Town activity areas and it is located in an upmarket place, its clean the housekeeping is well mannered and hospitable except the receptionist.
