In the culinary capital of the Cape, this hotel is under the towering Franschhoek Mountains with the famous Winelands a short car ride away.
Score from 131 reviews Very good
With landscaped grounds, this 100-year old Victorian house offers well-furnished rooms with a DVD player and an outdoor pool with cushioned lounge chairs. It is 650 ft from the center of Stellenbosch....

The hotel restaurant was not ideal for our children, although the food was very good.
The apartments were very comfortable and the setting is beautiful. My children and I really enjoyed using the hotel swimming pool.
The wifi was extremely slow
We enjoyed the location and found the accommodation great. wonderful views of the mountains
Poor selection of TV channels - but there is a DVD player and a rental shop next to Pick n Pay. 1 bedroom villas are actually apartments with 1 "villa" divided onto an upstairs and downstairs apartment. The 2 bedroom villas are more accurately described as a villa. wi-fi is weak and slow throughout - even in the adjacent hotel. There are no staff on duty after 5pm so no-one to deal with problems. The adjacent hotel is the only place you can eat within walking distance.
Beautiful location and very near to Franschoek. Staff were very helpfull and moved us to another villa when we complained of no heating and week wi-fi. Receptionist even lent us her personal hair dryer when we asked for something better than was supplied in the room. These places are nicer and more spacious than a hotel room - and you can even prepare your own food in the kitchen area if you want.
Great location for relaxing and perfect base from which to explore the area. The accommodation was well appointed and the setting, with views of the mountain, was really beautiful.
Noisy hotel staff. Uncomfortable bed. Lack of coffee satchets.
Don't like the fact that there is not a proper shower
Ambiance, view, furnishings all excellent
Staff knew little about facilities, road noise was bad in the morning and evening.
Part of the hotel
Great space for a group of friends to stay in.
I am disabled but a very good swimmer, however I was unable to get to the pool-I use a motorised scooter to get about and many steps to access the pool-also if I had been able to get to the pool, I am not sure I would be able to enter/ exit the pool
The apartment and the views from the apartment
Friendly staff and lovely accomodation!
Impression hotel guests are the priority
wifi was slow
The villas are beautiful and spacious, aircon, swimming pool
We loved the houses with the authentic thatch-roofs. Beautiful scenery. Definately a place to return.
tiny separate toilet quite small bedroom although free, wi fi hit and miss pool only had 12 loungers and the usual selfish people think a strategically placed towel reserves it all day……wrong
location value views covered terrace shuttle to Franschhoek 50R return per person
Proximity to the hotel to use the facilities without having to drive anywhere.
Absolutely wonderful two - bedroom villa - stunning views, clean and we'll - equipped. The Villas will be our preferred lodging in the Winelands from now on!
I requested 2 twins when I made my booking, as we travelled as a group of 4 women. And ended up sleeping on a matrass in the sitting room as the one bedroom had a double.
The location is excellent. Nestled in the mountains
Kitchen appliances were fine, but there were few pots, pans, dishes, utensils etc to cook with, and not even a tea towel! Service in hotel restaurant very slow.
Superb living space, balcony and bedrooms, and good bathrooms. Picture-postcard pretty. Now free wifi.
No information packs in the villa. No assistance to find the villa or with luggage. Bare minimum kitchen equipment for self-catering. Wifi didn't work in villa and either had to use the office link or walk to the hotel's lounge.
Charming thatched villas in delightful grounds. Apparently could use the hotel's pool but limited beds (13)?
bit out of town some rooms a very dark
NIce area, great pool, good accom, nice View if you get a room with a view?
Bed was too small.
Had dinner one night at the restaurant and found it lacking in atmosphere and food quality
Everything about it was excellent. Fabulous villa with superbly equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge area, bathrooms and bedrooms. So quiet and peaceful too. Lovely walk through gardens to the pool area We cannot wait to stay again at what is, in our opinion, the best accommodation in the ever beautiful Franschheok
I would strongly recommend the villas to anyone looking for great facilities, mixed with attentive staff and more importantly great views of the mountains. Great location, only short drive from Franschhoek town and close by wine farms.
The toilet is so small one needs to maneuver around the basin to use it!! Rather strange seeing as the bathroom is such a fair size.
The setting, accommodation and view were really fantastic
Great value for money. Loved the comfort of a private flat. Reception staff very helpful.
