Score from 530 reviews Wonderful
Right on the V&A Waterfront, this 4-star hotel offers a walk-in wine cellar and a terrace with a bar. Rooms include LCD TVs and overlook the Alfred Basin or Table Mountain.
Score from 355 reviews Excellent
The chic and colorful Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Newlands is within a quarter mile of the Sahara Park Newlands Rugby and Cricket Stadiums. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Score from 65 reviews Good
Featuring a direct beachfront location a few steps from Sea Point, the Riviera offers fully equipped accommodations. A shuttle bus to V&A Waterfront stops regularly across from the resort.
Score from 109 reviews Very good
Very quiet but central location with the most fantastic views. Easy to get around either with or without a car. The staff and owner made us and our three year old son feel very much at home.
The location and size of the rooms were great. The shared amenities and breakfast was excellent with very friendly and helpful staff. It felt like you were in your own home. I will definitely stay again but in a larger room.
I booked a room online with a separate bathroom across the hall, not ideal. My room opened onto a balcony where other guests smoked and i had to close my only window onto the balcony. There was no air conditioning which would be very hot in peak summer months.
Nice and big rooms You feel like to be a part of a big family Very nice breakfast
I had no bathroom in my room and had to walk to facilities. Not enough pillows/cold and uncomfortable bed. Breakfast was undercooked. No coffee/tea in the room. The TV looks like it came from the 60's!! Nobody asked if we were happy and we were left to share a patio with 2 older couples!! Waste of money and 5 star rating needs to be questioned!!!
The staff was very friendly and professional. The bed was kingsize and I did appreciate the extra length. The Shower which is in the bath has a lovely showerhead and I loved it. The breakfasts was delightful.
Eskom's Load shedding during our stay, but the candle light made up for that.
* Ocean View * Breakfast * Staff
* Location (in comparison with Camps Bay)
The view, both to the ocean and up lionshead, the noble arquitecture in the building, the access to the kitchen and friendly staff
If you have a car, access is easy to move around cape town and the peninsula etc, if not I think it may be a little complicated as it is about a five-ten min drive from downtown
the stuff is friendy, and helpfull.
quiet but centrally located
All. Well located, very confortable, quiet. Ten minutes from Table Mountain, from Waterfront, from Campsbay. Adorable staff.
How this hotel has 5 stars is beyond me? I was told it's owned by a German man & it certainly lives up to the german stereotype of efficient. The lights are turned off most of the time which is a safety concern, especially at night. There was nobody at reception after 6pm which was awkward as we organised a tour with an agent on the Waterfront late one evening & they said they would call our guesthouse to confirm tour but they were unable to get through to us as no one was available at reception. Walden Suites are understaffed and the staff that were on were unqualified students. The walls are paper thin and the handle actually fell off our door when checking in. My I-Pad was bigger than the TV in the room. When I phoned to speak to the manager I found her to be rude and unhelpful as well as in denial regarding the 5 stars. This place is probably a 5 star hostel at best. My advice would be to book into The Claranden up the road, it has four stars but should have 5 and will make your stay far more pleasant. They also have no lift which is a requirement when advertising yourself as five star.
Stunning building and tastefully fitted out, with great views of the coast.
Unhelpful and surly reception staff (with one major exception).
We originally booked a budget room but opted to upgrade to a suite upon arrival as it had its own bathroom.
The budget room we had booked did not meet the description on the website. It did not have a private bathroom or shower as described, but rather a shared bathroom with other guests.
Very friendly staff, and rooms were very large (suite) and comfortable.
The view from the balcony was great. The freedom to use the kitchen to make drinks at any time was excellent. The breakfast was very good.
Very nice room
Swimming pool and garden disappointing.
Beautiful house, comfortable, with a view on the ocean Location not far from points of interest Staff very friendly
I mean staff was friendly. Owner here but did not even show up
It was hard to leave this marvelous place after a week; very friendly staff, beautiful large rooms, excellent breakfast; nothing to put on a wish list.
Stunning home with magnificent views. The staff felt like family by the time left. I miss the walden house and staff as much as I miss beautiful Cape Town.
staff where very friendly and helpful
felt like we where staying in someones house not as private as a hotel
Wonderful team, great hospitality. We feel like being at home. Great location with nice view on the table mountain and walking distance from the sea.
Read the fine print.... "separate bathroom" I thought meant that it was inclosed from the main room not open plan as one seems to get in the modern rooms.... The shower, toilet and wash basin was down the hall across the room.....
We spend 2 nights at Walden and had a really great time. The room was elegant and stylish with a great view from the large balcony. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was superb as well. The location between the city center and the beautiful beaches is very convenient. We loved everything about it and will definitely recommend it. /Iben & Anders, Denmark
Filter coffee was excellent but as I am a early riser I think they should have coffee in the rooms.
