A beautiful hotel in an amazing location overlooking a lagoon. Lovely, spacious room cleaned to perfection every day. Great view of the hills, lagoon and golf course.
Our first dinner was exquisite, but marred by very long intervals between courses. All the successive meals were bad in terms of both the quality of the food served. The menus never changed from day to day.
The overall ambience of the hotel and the friendly staff. Buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner were first class
The hotel is beautifull.
Service was terrible. Pizza oven not working Umbrellas on terrace broken Spa treatment booking problems No gowns/slippers/locker in spa Wouldnt allow breakfast to be room serviced Telephone broken Staff knocked on door 09:00 next morning to check minibar No one at luggage room to open up so that we could get our luggage.
Hotel looks great. Swimming pool and spa is awesome. Pool staff and breakfast staff is awesome. Room service great. Would definitely go back again.
We could not check in at 3 o clock as there were a mix up with rooms. Had to wait 2 hours before room was ready. Next day we left hotel room at 11 o clock and left "Please Make Up Room" notice. When we returned at 3 o clock the room was still not cleaned. We were quite disappointed as it was our second stay at the Arabella.
The pool and gardens are stunning
Bed was a little firm for me. Memory foam toppers would solve the problem
Fantastic hotel and fantastic wiev. great golf
The food was not at all at the same standard as the hotel. We hade to send away 2 dishes and could not wait for more mistakes. We went hungry from the table
The pool and spa area is not bad. The breakfast is good.
At a five star hotel you expect five star service and food. Since the Marriott take over all has slipped and the staff are clearly not happy.
the food was very good, the golf course nice and well prepared and nice people working in the spa. Generous an fun New Years dinner.
Reception staff need to shape up, not service minded and mostly one step behind..
location, architecture and interior still very appealing for its age.
some maintenance urgent needed in not so obvious areas like wall tiles coming off on balconies etc.
creeky pull out couch inadequate to sleep on. I have made a recommendation on a previous visit but dont think anyone reads it
Spa and location very good.
Warm pool very dirty, stayed 10 nights and 2 items on the floor hasn't been picked up or moved at all one in the bathroom and one in the room.
the service was poor because the waiters did put the orders through to the kitchen as we order it but when we recieved our food it was not what we ordered. Speak to your chef and tell him or her to learn the menu
Great rooms, beautiful spa and pool area. Wonderful service.
none I can think off
Excellent stay. Really enjoyed it. Beautiful. And a lovely way to get away from the daily buzz.
Do not stay for too long or you will get bored. Two or three nights at max is perfect
everything is outstanding
Location is brilliant Golf Course & Spa is great The general outlay of the hotel is great The bathroom is spacious & shower pressure is amazing
Rooms smelled a bit like smoke Rooms need a bit of an upgrade - it's starting to look a bit too "late 90's African" - the rate per room is a bit over priced for the outdated room decor
SPECTACULAR SETTING GREAT SERVICE
HEATED POOL WAS COLD. NEED MORE FACILITIES FOR KIDS
Location and staff service were excellent.
The room shown on booking.com that we booked was not the room we were given. The pictures of the room shown were for the presidential suite while we were actually booked a standard room. As you can imagine this was not the start we wanted especially as the first hour was spent arguing with staff over who's fault this was. We were eventually upgraded to a suite which was an improvement but still far short of what we were promised by booking.com
Helpfull Staff and excellent food.
Kids not allowed in indoor pool
The room was clean and well equipped The Staff were all brilliant The Spa experience was excellent Breakfast was amazing!
Prior to booking the Spa, I struggled to get hold of the staff for specials, as well as a booking confirmation. The in-room snack and drink's pricing was obscene.
- staff - location - premises design / layout - flair - restaurant/food
- general state of repair - wood trimmings coming loose - upholstery showing too much wear not only in the rooms
Lovely location. Specious rooms with a balcony (we had a lagoon view room which was fantastic!). Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. The dinner "a la carte" at the restaurant was good, but nothing fancy and buffet dinner was just ok. Beautiful golf course, though in need of better maintenance. Good spa facilities and treatments.
Poor and patchy wi-fi in the room, no wi-fi at the restaurant. Messed up with our order at the bar - had to wait for 45 mins for our meals to arrive from the kitchen, but they gave our drinks for free as an excuse. Could be busy with corporate groups.
Overall experience was good.
Gym wasn't operational. No indoor pool for babies or small kids.
