Score from 8 reviews Very good
This place was rated 4 star. I loved the fact that we stayed in a house that was built in 1705. It really gave us a feel of living in the past. Blast from the past.
I think that the star rating is definitely over rated. The house was not aired out before our arrival, the tv didn't work, which was later fixed, but I think if you book at a 4 star place, it's all in the detail.
We loved the old look and the fact that it is situated in the centre of town. Close to the activities
Colour (Bright Green) of the bathroom do no compliment the history of the building and I think needed to be as close to original as possible.
Very friendly staff and welcome. Home from home feeling Warm, comfy and happy feel about it. Just loved the beautiful antique furniture Value for money We'll be back again and again! Thanks so much.
we stayed in the self catering apartment/house. we loved the feel of being in an original Cape Dutch house. despite the weather, the house was warm. great place and we will definitely be back.
Excellent and friendly staff.
The cottage was absolutely great
Te beautiful surroundings
The Honey Oak s/c cottage was a wonderful surprise; did not expect a National Monument! Loved the decor, specially the kitchen and contents. Most comfortable
Staff made us feel very welcome. Our room was wonderful, it had everything we needed and more. Extremly comfortable... Excellent central location. Would definatly stay again. Nothing
Very pleasant people, helpful, kind understanding. Cosy, clean well equipped. The perfect getaway.
Amazing self-catering cottage at Church street
Our room was spacious and comfortable. Meals were of a very high standard.
Not enough hangers in the wardrobe! My husband and I stayed for 4 nights and 3 hangers just isn't enough!
They tried to place me in a small room with no bathroom and no safe when I first checked in. I also had to either carry my heavy bags up and down the flights of stairs or leave it to one of the women working there to do that. They also were unable to arrange taxi service to or from Cape Town over New Years. The people were nice, but it felt more like a 2 star to 3 star experience.
the area is quiet and breath taking. you feel home away from home, I can recommend friends to visit.
Distance to Cape Town but not a negative point.
Hotel rooms big and new, good size bathroom, staff were pleasant. Restaurant food was good for an evening meal.
Expensive as it did not include breakfast in the price. Location in town between houses and local stores, street noise. No atmosphere at night, nothing to do in the town.
Good atmosphere and good staff
Great bar Lovely outside area to have breakfast Huge rooms, very comfortable Lovely staff Very clean
Shower pressure was bad (too weak for the size of the shower head) and the water sporadically went hotter / colder Thought breakfast was included, but wasn't.
Value for money!!! Friendly staff and modern luxury rooms made our stay wonderful.
Friendly and helpful staff The room was perfect Everything worked I will certainly recommend this hotel to others and will stay there again
The food was not matching the excellence of the hotel The bar prices are very high ( perhaps to discourage drunkerds from the street) This might be a plus factor
Staff very friendly and helpful, room clean and comfortable. enjoyed the stay
The location, the architecture, the decor, the mattress, bedding, young, friendly, welcoming staff
The traffic on Van der Stel Street, the untrained noisy chambermaid, the lack of experience and knowledge of some of the staff(rye bread; how wi fi works, why a rare steak should not be served on a cold plate; the difference between boerewors and sausage; how the booking.com process works), all of which can be attended to, and remedied, with training.
The hotel was a pleasure cape dutch style
