Price was great. Location was good. Breakfast was really nice.
does get a bit noisy in the wee hours. But, being on Long Street, this came as no surprise.
The bathroom was not cleaned, there was hair on the shower walls and no toilet paper, it was apparent that they room was not either. The lobby on my floor had an odour of rotting garbage and cigarette smoke. Food vendors are allowed to trade on the doorstep of the hotel making the hotel entrance smell of meat and smoke. I slept on the top of the bed as I was not convinced that the bedding had in fact been changed. I posted my complaint on hotel's FB page and have not had response. I don't know how they get to maintain a 4 star rating. There was not welcome brochure in the room explaining how things run at the hotel, no menu for the restaurant or bar, neither was there an emergency procedure pamphlet in a visible place. Was not impressed with treatment I received from one of the staff members when the key card to my room did not work. He was quite impertinent and spoke down to me as if I was an idiot for not being able to put the key card into the slot correctly. I will definitely not be recommending City Chic to anyone know and will in fact let everyone know about my experience. I want my money back!
The staff was very friendly and always helpful
The tv doesn't have many options and the bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned
Glad I found this quaint little gem. I stayed here for 4 nights with a friend and we had a great experience. Near many other wineries- we could safely walk to some. Friendly staff as well. Helped us book tours and taxis into town.
The discos, could not sleep for 3 day.I booked for 7 days only stayed for 3 days the unfriendly manager refunded only one day
CENTRAL situation and very helpful staff
REVELRIES went on all night but great for youngsters but a bit off putting for us oldies but enjoyed the stay
Location, within walking distance to many restaurants & Cafe's, opposite the road is an Amazing organic juice bar. Friendly helpful staff Clean rooms & great complimentary breakfast
The noise, being right above long street especially over the weekend, but we knew this before booking, did not bother us to be honest but for someone looking for quite times this should be concidered.
The room was quite nice and the finishes were quite modern. The place was not too bad. The staff was ok but the cleaning staff did not clean our rooms but either than that they were ok.
The cleaning staff was not cleaning the room. they only made the bed but they do not clean the toilet floors and for the duration of our stay they never cleaned the carpet as well. Reporting did not help either, we were promised this will be sorted but it was never done.
The whole area
Too much noise at night
Breakfast good long street closer to everything shopping
Noises at night
the rooms were not clean,i did not like get my airport transfer refund as promised and i felt robbed. The pics you see on the internet are diferent from what you get when you get there.quite deciving
Great room and beautiful view but a poor nights sleep which not even ear plugs can help.
Unbelievably noisy. Situated over Long Streets noisiest bars it was a bit like trying to sleep in a night club. Ear plugs were supplied by the hotel but didn't help. Don't understand why the hotel doesn't invest in some double glazing as it was great otherwise!!
Linen in the room was of excellent quality
Location of the hotel is opposite an all night bar that plays loud music. Unable to sleep. Offered ear plugs by staff but not effective. Shower in need of an upgrade. Service in the restaurant is terrible and the breakfast is poor!
Great location. Hotel was nice the staff amazing and so helpful. The hotel is surrounded by pubs and clubs so if you are not into that then get eat plugs( the hotel offer them for free) however it didn't bother me at all. I love Cape Town and the music of the city! Lovely hotel would definitely stay there again! Very central and walking distance to shops. The waterfront is a short cab drive away,! I can't compliment the staff enough as they were very friendly and went out of their way to help!!!
the establishment was centrally located. the room was comfortable and adequate the room opened onto Long Street and the atmosphere on long street is alive it is also close to all the eating houses and some restaurants the front desk staff are pleasant
the hotel is small , and the noise from rooms next door tend to carry through, the breakfast staff are rather unpleasant and have no people skills. very small selection of tv channels
The part of cape town, where a lot of activities took place
Failure to refund guests if booking isn't taken
Its the small things. Attention to detail . The curtains hanging off the rail. No Soap.
Location friendly staff
Outside Noise every night Lift not always working being on top floor was a workout Key Card for door needed to be re- calibrated most days
Free parking and a good breakfast.
It was extremely noisy with all the clubs in Long street. Management should consider installing sound proofing materials, I.e double glazing. Reception staff could be friendlier and more engaged.
The room! Clean white linen. Spacious bedroom. Lovely modern interior. The bathroom is gorgeous.
Having to order and wait for breakfast to be prepared. Restaurant only serves breakfast and a light simple lunch. It's closed for dinner. It was really inconvenient and the food isn't at all amazing.
very central location, right next to all the bars
power outages (not the hotel's fault), poor WiFi connction
Room layout, bed, linen, excellent receptionists!
Breakfast room, mediocre food, mediocre service, tables not cleaned Hotel too hot and stuffy
wow the urban Chic Hotel staff they go that extra mile to help you understand Cape Town. The Room Service is quick. All the staff is friendly. this is the best hotel to be.
everything was ok
Terrible and see through curtains-was little diff between day and night. grubby furniture. put into a room on noisy side knowing I was on business-it was a Sunday night, I thought they new Sunday nights were quiet early. Party over the road till 4 the next morning.
This hotel is quite modern with excellent rooms and a first class location on Long Street. It doesn't have a restaurant but that doesn't really matter as there are many around you including The charismatic Mama Africa across the street. A good breakfast is available. I was on business at the Superior High Court and this is obviously the nearest hotel and I was able to leave my car in their car park all day.
I was OK but my friends were on the front so there was a bit of noise from the bars and restaurants
