The views are excellent and so was the breakfast. The hostess really tried her best to make me feel welcome.

Small glitches like no hot water, credit card payment machine not working. But not a train smash.

Everything was satisfactory. Service good. Very friendly and efficient. Little could be faulted. Rooms were comfortable although some of our friends found the beds on the hard side. However, see the negatives which I feel spoiled a very good time for us. When one pays so much for four star accommodation the negatives should be minimal.

Quality of breakfast for a four star establishment was below par. The scramble eggs were minute and grey in colour which was very off-putting. Most of the meat provided had pork in it so all the guests who did not eat pork could not have this part of the breakfast. This was poor insight by management. Rooms are also at dining and kitchen area and we were awoken in the very early morning by staff speaking very loudly. This was upsetting as we wanted a good sleep. Some of our party were not informed about the outside entrance so they could not get into the building when they came home after an evening function. Builders also started work early as well.

Lovely views over the mountains, good rooms.

The staff seemed to be surprised when we arrived, couldn´t get dinner, which was a disappointment. Difficult to find.

    beautiful view, nice rooms

towels were clearly old and showing age waitresses got both our dinner and breakfast orders wrong

Very comfortable and luxurious. Having real plunger coffee in the rooms was a nice touch.

Wall safe did not work. We could not make the breakfast, and requested if we could offset the cost of the breakfast on a light lunch, but they were not at all flexible.

    Nice view.

The food on the lunch menu is truly awful.

The food was great and the wine excellent. It was a great place to stay. I would recommend this place to all.

For us it was a great breakaway stay, but I do feel that there is nothing more on offer from Wellington to visitors.
