Loved the space and the location
The location at the waterfront with plenty of shops and restaurants.
Bathroom tiles were cracked and looked very unhygienic.
5* star service at all times. Great location, friendly staff, professional awesome stay
We paid extra for a suite with a view of Table Mountain & the waterfront & the view was stunning....but the other issues we experienced meant we would book a different hotel on the waterfront on our next visit as this is not the only hotel with a fabulous view.
The room lighting was poor, there was a leak in the toilet that proved impossible to fix & meant we used the public facilities instead & the service in the restaurant was consistently haphazard & slow...luckily there was a great view to look at while waiting!
car park reception upon arrival, luxurious accommodation, friendly, helpful staff, huge variety at breakfast from muesli and joghurt, to oysters and champane
that we had to go home
The location was excellent, being in the middle of Cape Town Waterfront. Wish we could have stayed longer
Kindness and courtesy at customer desk to find some locations and for web chek in flight
Excessive time at reception for chek in The roof room very small
The view. The service. The helpfulness of most of the staff.
The construction. Not being advised of construction BEFORE arriving. And worst if all being ripped off by hotel policy on booking and payment. I booked in March and clearly stated that I wanted a child's bed in one room. I paid for (what I believed was) the full accommodation by EFT in May. When checking out I was advised that the cost of the child's bed had NOT been paid for in the EfT so I ended up with a local bill of R2550 more than I expected. I am still severely annoyed that this policy resulted in my having to make payment from unanticipated sources and I intend to complain directly to Newmarket Hotels
It was a great place to stay because of the location, views and the staff who made every effort to make guests feel welcome. Very pleased that I decided to stay at this hotel.
hotel decor is a little tatty, in need of revamp
Very friendly staff
Room a little bit claustrophobic
Rooms and beds are very good. Breakfast !
Some noise on the street.
This is a quality hotel ideally situated in the Cape Town waterfront. On arrival the extremely pleasant and efficient receptionist informed us that renovations were taking place on the second floor with slight noise. Consequently, we were given an upgrade, away from the noise. The room was excellent with views of the harbour and table mountain. Also we were given a voucher for a complimentary drink. The disturbance was minimal. Small touches such as this, and the friendliness and efficiency of all the staff make the V&A a great place to stay.
We liked everything, location perfect, breakfast perfect, staff perfect,We also thank to waiters, Junior(Ntobeko),Yowelwa,Letvine,Anele,Supervisor Tawanda, they are all perfect people.İf, someday we would have a chance to visit Cape Town, we would like to stay in this hotel.Thank you very much.
It is so close to Victoria shopping mall, and we shoped a lot.Just a joke.
Very nice breakfast Friendly staff
Wrong info about my stay was disclosed to my wife and made a big problem for me (very unprofessional!!!!)
Great location in the heart of the wayerfront
Comfortable room with good facilities and reception staff very helpful and atttentive.
Got breakfast service was quite slow and not very impressive on arrival. I ordered mushrooms on toast and it arrived with 2 slices of toast and 1 mushroom sliced in the middle!
The location was good
Very noisy, hotel under refurbishment, my room very noisy and without any decent view, the decor of my room was also tired and plumbing did not work properly. Check out time is 11 A.M.this is not convenient if you have an international flight as most of those leave late afternoon, early evening. Despite giving platinum american express card at time of check in they insisted I pay the whole amount in advance, only telling me afterwards about the noise and refurbishment and check out at 11.00; A.M. I would not stay there again.
For the price paid and yet have to endure endless renovation noise, drilling hammering, alarms etc is absolutely disgusting. Especially when we were not given notice of this at all.
We were looking for the perfect overnight stay prior to traveling back to the US after 2 weeks in SA. We loved the central location near waterfront shopping, sights and having a taxi-stand right in front! The view of the harbor and Table Mountain from our loft room was great. Fantastic attentive staff who handled local transit, laundry and other travel needs, all with big smiles.
A good thing for the SA economy yet a lot of construction going on in the harbor area including the aquarium expansion...the hotel let us know about it along with some improvements they were making when we booked...and gave us vouchers for wine/spa to offset any possible inconvenience.
The setting of the hotel is very good.
I paid r2 900.00 for a room only. The price should at least include breakfast. Secondly as a Afrikaans speaking South African, I expected at least KYKNET on the TV.
there is noise while our staying the room is small
Friendly staff. Nice location. Clean Hotel. Best Wi-Fi connection ever.
We stayed in room 324. The front door did not open all the way,and was extremely difficult to open and close. The shower door was difficult to open.
