Marco is a lovely, very friendly host. We feel like home. He gave us a warm welcome, lovely, stylisch and clean rooms. We lived behind the pool. Perfect days in Capetown. Sabine & Matthias
Free wifi with good speed, Owner repaired light on terrace / provided lamp in the meantime, Friendly owner, Everyone chooses his own security code for gate and main door (hopefully not the usual 1234 / 0000), Cute cat Nespresso Caps Coffee for free
My room was very dirty, Tooth glass disgustingly dirty, Spider webs + dead spider + black dirt next to toilet, Water coming out of shower even if glass closed properly, mold unavoidable, Bathroom had no door, Safe was just lying in the cupboard, not fixed at all, 3 of 4 lights in the bathroom broken, Cat runs around outside where breakfast tables are set up and loves to jump on things, Door security lock has no counterpart in the frame, so only locked with old standard keys -> not really secure in combination with the loose safe, Garden furniture run-down, One can hear and feel the springs in the bed, Room furniture mostly metal, no real concept behind (various styles mixed up), Room smelled very "old", also the linen made no good impression, Windows not draughtproof, kitchen quite messy, breakfast boring, not well prepared, no sausage, no cheese, no variations
Location is good, wifi is good
The place s rundown and in reality overcharges for what it offers. To name a few things: the bathroom door doesn't close or lock, the small, dark bathroom has one functioning light out of the three in place, the room safe stopped working halfway through, some breakfast supplies weren't managed well, there are 2 parking spots on site, one of which us used by the manager. In addition, we confirmed a late check-out in writing more than 2 months before our stay. Belle Ombre blamed booking.com for confirming something they said they never agreed to and treated us with a ungraciousness as a result. There are better places for the same price.
we had a really good time in Villa Belle Ombre! The neighborhood is very quiet but just a 20 min walk to busy Longstreet. The hosts were always helpful in booking tours or calling cabs. The pool and the Villa are surrounded by the nicest flowers and trees which give you a mediterranean flair. Also the nice wooden floors and the thoughtfully decorated living room give this Villa a very an authentic charm. But the best thing is the breakfast on the little sun terrace. A perfect start in the day.
No downside. The only thing which would make it over the top perfect would be an aircon. But the rooms weren't too warm during night.
lack of personal contact
Beautiful old house with its original veranda; no TVs in the room, so it's nice and quiet; it felt safe.
I had work to do, but there was no desk in the room, I had to work on the bed. One understands that half the space was taken for the private bathroom, but still.
I absolutely have no complaints
No hot water
No hot water late at night. Room not made up until we complained. Lack of carpets made for noise.
A charming B&B in a pleasant location in Cape Town. The rooms were comfortable and the hosts were very accommodating when our dates had to be changed due to a sudden hospitalization on our due date. The staff and owners are lovely and friendly.I would highly recommend Villa Belle Ombre.
Location and friendliness of owner and management. Facility comfortable. Flexibility in terms of breakfast times and chekc out.
The room we had no exterior windows which made getting fresh air into the room difficult. We are not keen on airconditioning option only, especailly with the associated noise as it "kicks in periopdically".
Friendly welcome friendly owner very pretty old refurbished house cosy atmosphere at home feeling
Got the smallest room but only because of Argus weekend therefore very busy
The historical charm of the house; the location is perfect; Marco, the owner is hands on and very helpful; parking in the grounds within secure gates; use of the swimming pool.
The noisy fan in the bedroom
Marco was a fantastic host. We stayed in the flat unit which was spacious and perfect for our family (note, in the flat unit you make your own breakfast but Marco does the food shopping for you!!). Beautiful views of Table Mountain and Lions Head from flat unit terrace, and walking distance to shopping, dining and a park.
Only downside is it is a drive to Waterfront and CBD
A delightful place to stay whilst visiting Cape Town . I had a lovely modern room overlooking the small but functional pool and sun lounging area. I would definitely recommend this to family and friends.Marco and staff were nice too!
Lovely old home Lovely receptionist Good breakfast
No shower No tea/coffee making facilities Noisy wooden floors
Really helpful and friendly staff, excellent location and great place to stay when travelling alone.
basic information about car parking was no requirement to reserve and space available park inside of house. Actually, space was limited only 2 cars. I had to park car on public road. TV didnt work. contact to staff during stay was very difficult. Only time I could talk owner were check in and breakfast.I cant find where staff are at.
Really nice place in peaceful location yet close enough to everything.
