Warm welcome on arrival. Room with an uninterrupted view of the lighthouse and the coast. Excellent dinner recommendation at Twisted Fork within short walking distance.
Some repairs needed - our room had ground floor access through glass doors from a private terrace - one door didn't open; the side window handle was missing which meant the window could be opened also from the outside - security issue.
Exceptional architecture; nice rooms. Staff very friendly Excellent breakfast
Incredible view on lighthouse Spacious, comfortable clean room Great bath Nice facilities Lovely breakfast
Breakfast was served late and took 1,5 hours which meant we missed some of our planned excursions. Room wasn't ready for occupation on check-in. The room we stayed in doesn't have sound proofing in the ceiling and the noise from the common area overhead kept us awake until 23:00 when the other gusts decided to go to sleep. Staff had an indifferent attitude to the issues we had with the accommodation.
The place was clean, the room and bathroom were roomy, everything worked, and the breakfast was excellent. We were welcomed with a drink of our choice, which was a nice gesture.
They advertise private parking, but the only parking available was on the street. Although the area seemed safe enough, "private parking" should not be advertised on booking.com unless secure off-street parking is actually available.
Nice Location Big Rooms with sea view close to national park and restaurants (walking distance)
- Beautiful setting with a spectacular sea view - Very friendly & welcoming hosts - Fabulous breakfast - Lying in bed looking at the sea
The best view of the lighthouse and the sea from the bed and private terrace, friendly staff, tasty breakfast, comfortable room (blue room). Would recommend to anybody.
Slow service Needs face lift Not 4 star.
James and Lizelle, the two staff members looking after us, are both fabulous people. The view is out of this world, and the interior of the Honeymoon Suite where we were booked, was both elegant and comfy.
When we initially booked the room for 5 consecutive nights for my husband, it was at the special Booking.com rate of R900 for single occupancy. Double occupancy was R1100 per evening. Being very thrilled with everything about the place, he asked me to join him for the last two evenings; assuming that we will only need to pay the R200 per evening for two nights extra. But in the end we were charged R400 per evening, bringing the price to the normal R1300 (i.e., not the Booking.com special price). We realised that neither Lizelle nor James had decision-making authority, and with the owner away, we had no choice but to pay double what we thought would have been our expenses.
Everything at the guest house was perfect
Limited restaurants in the town
The very warm welcome with a superb glass of wine, the view on the Cap and the lighthouse and the delicious breakfast
The location was absolutely superb! Stunning views. Quiet little town. The room was awsome
Great welcome on arrival with a glass of wine. We were the only guests and so received very personal service. Thank you so much.
Welcome glass of wine. Jacuzzi on the open air deck - awesome. Breakfast coffee was great. Friendly host.
The guest house processed the credit card transaction before we even arrived. Breakfast staff did not know what an omelette was, and bacon was cold.
This guesthouse has a stunning location with great views of the lighthouse. Our room was impressively large and beautifully presented and there was even a bottle of wine in the fridge. Take your camera with you when you go for breakfast as both the interior and the exterior views are stunning.
Fabulous views, quiet location, local restaurants walkable.
great decor and friendly staff
poor lighting outside
We stayed in the Silver Room. I LOVED it! I wish we had more time in our itinerary to stay here longer. It had a perfect view of the lighthouse and the beach. The room was spacious. The bed was plush and comfortable. The minibar was bountiful. The bathroom was luxurious. It had a shower, a beautiful bathtub, hot water with good water pressure, and a heated towel bar! We arrived late in the evening, after usual check-in hours and the owner himself met us and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. He was even kind enough to make a call for us to the shark cage diving company we had booked for the next day to find out what time we needed to leave the hotel the next morning. He gave us directions and travel advice. Since we were going to be leaving the hotel before the included breakfast would be served, the owner packed up some fresh bread, deli meats, and fruit for us to keep for breakfast the next day. We were sad that we had to leave the hotel so early after arriving so late for check-in. The breakfast options were plentious, with made-to-order eggs, hot bacon and sausage, as well as yogurt, cereals, and fruits. There was an outdoor patio just outside of our room with a table and two chairs where we sat to enjoy the view of the ocean and the lighthouse. This entire hotel was absolutely gorgeous! It was decorated very tastefully with an open, modern decor.
The hot tub jets did not work and the water was lukewarm.
Clean, friendly, comfortable. But most impressive:a stunning view of the sea, lighthouse & dunes.
We were a little hesitant to book here because of some comments in the reviews, but we are so glad we took the chance because our experience was first rate. You must stay here if you come to Agulhas as the southern-most tip of Africa. Only here can you lie in bed and stare out over the sandhills directly at the Cape Agulhas lighthouse and the meeting of the two oceans. But this is not the only positive. The current manager, Lizelle, and her assistant, James, were helpful in every way possible. The full English breakfast was plentiful and well prepared. Since there are only three or four rooms, breakfast seating is at a communal table resulting in a thoroughly enjoyable conversation between ourselves (from the US), a younger couple and their son from Hungary, and a German couple.
The décor, although upscale, is European modernistic, almost to the extreme, which seems a little out of place in this iconic African location. This is offset only by an African theme to the place settings on the breakfast table.
The space, warm welcome, views and lovely breakfast .
Bath plug in honeymoon suite didnt work properly. Tv in the blue room not working both reported to Manager .but these things didn't detract from the enjoyment of our stay.
Not many hotels have a truly unique location. This one does. Sleeping in Africa's southernmost hotel beds, and sitting on one's own terrace watching the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. Add to this two marvelous women running the place, a very spacious and comfortable room, and a very good breakfast.
Loved the place!
the lady in the guesthouse was great, she did everything to make us feel comfortable! very nice view of the lighthouse and really beautiful room with bathroom. good breakfast
the design of the common area is a little cold
Being told on arrival that we MUST pay cash because their system had been down for a week, not the best greeting and asked to decide on what to eat for breakfast and exact time to eat it. No access to facilities after 7pm as staff went home
Close to the sea, great landscape
