Centrally situated - wedding in Plumstead, the reception in Orangezicht. Wonderful surroundings and looked after really well by the Hotel staff. My parents had their reception at the Vineyard 38 years ago, so it was nice to continue the tradition.
None - it was a glorious day. Thank you for helping to make it special.
Friendly staff, beautiful gardens and amazingly stunning views. The breakfasts were wonderful with an excellent variety of food. The lunches we had at the conference was excellent as well as the one we had on Sunday in the garden area.
Our last trip was in 2007 with our teenage daughter, but now as a couple. We were pleased to see it has maintained its style ,the service is good and all the staff are happy to make your stay as comfortable as possible we stayed for 6 nights .The spa is delightful!
Having stayed 6 nights which is perhaps quite a while for guests at The Vineyard I asked after day 3 if we could pay for a late cheque out my husband has Multiple Sclerosis so I knew would like to rest before a long haul 9.00pm departure from Cape Town I was told some thing would be organised on our departure day but at check out I was told no, they were completely full later that day I noticed availability in a SA holiday website....surely we could have had our room till 3 pm ...we had to use the pool changing rooms to prepare for our journey home although lovely to sit in the garden all day we did feel a little like refugees by 5 pm .A hotel offering conferences must have had a spare area where we could have changed and prepared for our trip in private together as my husband requires help with some tasks although he was taken to a disabled loo to dress which shows the kindness of the staff for which he was grateful.
Good food, good comfort, excellent staff, wonderful gardens, good spa
Mosquitos in bedroom,& not enough milk/coffee/tea in bedroom
No reading lights. No space for breakfast on Sunday.
Lovely gardens Excellent staff Great restaurant and very good value
The fact that it had excellent facilities and gardens
Disappointed on checking in to discover that we were not able to have dinner in the main restaurant due to an outside block -booking. Would suggest when booking your room that you also book the dining facilities, which are reportedly very good
The hotel, service and restaurants are excellent. The decor, art, antique furniture and historical records give the Vineyard soul- a warm family feeling.
The overall feel one gets when walking into the Vineyard is that here one can and in fact does relax! Wherever and throughout you feel relaxed and comfortable - wether dining or sunbathing your needs are discreetly and rapidly catered for by a caring anxious to help staff.
Wonderful location really good food and service, beautiful room with a huge bed, fantastic!
I reported the inconsistency of hot water in the shower room 121, and the curled up carpet which we kept tripping over
Have to pay for Internet. We live in the information age. All hotel should have good reliable and FREE internet
Gardens and views
A bit busy
Lights in the bedroom
Hotel was an interesting mix of old and new and struck a nice balance of a South African feel, with modern comforts
We had hoped to use the spa facilities at some point in our stay but were told it was fully booked three weeks in advance!
The staff make this a most enjoyable place to stay.
Your success means there are more people than I am comfortable with usually!
the people and the place
From the second you walk into the Vineyard, you enter another world where luxury envelopes you in a bubble of peace and serenity. The staff and their service is five star all the way, dining is a gastronomic experience to be savoured and the surroundings are as tranquil as it is picturesque. The only problem - like all good things, our trip came to an end.
Areas for smokers is very far off and removed - too much so (felt like I had a contagious disease).
The gardens and spa
The carpets in corridors
Not a 18 floor major chain, impersonal, operation trying to squeeze everything out if you! Great location - unless you want to spend all your time at the Warerfront (?!).
