We were very upset and shocked with the level of customer service for breakfast, we were staying there for the Absa Cape Epic mountain bike race and many other places would supply coffee, cereal and juice before the race but but we were told "breakfast was between 8-10" the place was full with bike riders and everyone had to make their own arrangements for breakfast which was absolutely disgusting!

Accommodation was excellent. Very spacious, clean and well laid out. Staff were very freindly.

Probably not Wind Rose's fault, but my GPS got me a bit lost. Fortunately I had printed out the map!!! The road to the guest house is a small dirt road, which was a bit unexpected.

There was very little that we liked about this place except the absolutely charming lady who showed us to our room and tried to help us. Be aware that this hotel is at the end of an extensive stretch of unlit and unmade roads and it is a considerable distance from Gordon's Bay. The advertised shuttle service did not exist? Our room was dark and dingy and did not smell welcoming. The bathroom was barely adequate with a stained lavatory pan. In fact we found this accommodation unacceptable.

We felt that this establishment fell way below the 4 star standard we had experienced elsewhere in Western Cape. Having found alternative accommodation we returned to Wind-Rose were we waited to speak to a member of the management. Nobody was on the premises and as we had already lost a day of our holiday we had no alternative but to leave and email our intention not to accept the accommodation and offered to pay any fair expenses. Although the accommodation was still advertising vacancies the proprietor emailed back to say that he would take the FULL amount for our stay. An expensive mistake. If you are ever unhappy with holiday accommodation take photographic evidence.

good beds, space, nice staff, fine breakfast

make sure you have a room at the garden, so the airco units outside won't keep you awake. would also have been nice to be able to have a nice drink after 9pm on the stoep. Could only sit at our room....
