Yellow Lodge Guesthouse  

Everything was really really great - excellent service, good and diverse breakfast, very helpful and kind staff. We had a beautiful room on the ground floor with terrace, which was perfect for relaxation. The house is surrounded by greenery and in a calm neighbourhood, only a 10-minute walk from the Stellenbosch center. Yellow Lodge is perfect value for money, and is even prettier in reality than in the photos shown here. If you are attending a conference in Spier (or somewhere close), it is only a 15-minute drive from Yellow Lodge. Also, if you are just looking for a relaxing holiday, this is a great option. :) We already miss it and will definitely come here again!

Nice big rooms - the downstairs room have a small terrace so you can sit outside. The house has lovely wooden floors/victorian baths etc which give it character. Breakfast was simple but fresh. Ben was very very helpful responding to our every request very quickly and efficiently. This is a budget friendly option for staying in Stellenbosch. Next time I think I would stay somewhere closer to the restaurants in town.

Parking is a big issue - there just is not enough and the street parking is full. When booking I got the impression that the lodge is walking distance to the centre of town - it is a bit far, especially at night. It is a bit noisy from the main road and the church clock striking every half an hour but on the second night I found a fan in the cupboard so could close the windows which was better.

The bed was tiny - and we were supposed to be in the "honeymoon suite". The whole place was a bit run down

-After 8 pm you do not find any staff in case you need assistance with anything.I Read this in one review but did not mind that, but I needed assistance with wifi password and did not find anyone at the reception to give it to me.The landlady who is very nice told me in the morning I should have asked for it on checking in. -There is a smell in the room, probably humidity... - i stayed in many B&B on this trip and I find this B&B over priced . I hope the nice lady does not take these comments personally, and do instead something to remedy the negative points mentioned here . i now understand the negative comments about this B&B , I agree with those who mentioned it, except for the GPS, it did guide me to this B&B very easily.

It wasnt too far from the town. Morning staff were nice the lady cooking breakfast and the cleaner were friendly.

The female owner stank of cirgerette smoke, wasnt terribly friendly and didnt know much about the TV in our room. The room we were in smelled of damp, there was an air freshener in the room which was taken out after we checked in and she should have left it there. The front door gate was off putting. We stayed in approx 10 guest houses along the garden route and Cape Town and this was by far the poorest.

We good enjoy a quiet stay there. Staff where friendly. The Guesthouse neat and clean.Breakfast was fantastic.

Staff is very kind, the neighborhood is beautiful. Breakfast is good, rooms are clean and comfortable.

In the winter there is no heating system only an electronic device, which is not the best but OK.

I liked the friendly and cooperative staffs at the guesthouse.

Wunderschönes Haus mit Pool zum Entspanenen. Gute Lage,man war sehr schnell in der Stadt. Viele Bäume ums Haus herum,schöner Garten.

Ab 6Uhr in der Früh viel Strassenlärm.

Schön angelegter Garten, liebevoll ausgestattetes Guesthouse, nettes und hilfreiches Personal.

Sehr geschmackvolle Einrichtung in einem gut geführten Haus. Am Ortsrand, aber der historische Stadtkern ist fussläufig gut erreichbar. An Hand der kleinen Broschüre kann man alle historischen Bauwerke auf dem Weg bewundern. Ideal zu verbinden mit einem Weinshuttle. Entsprechend Zeit einplanen.

Zentrale Lage --- nahe am Flughafen Kapstadt. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Kapstadt- und Capeerkundung und Start in Richtung Gardenroute. Preis/Leistung o.k.

De prijs was hoog voor een guesthouse.

Die Lage war gut. Das Zimmer war sauber.

Es roch im ganzen Haus und im Zimmer nach Farbe. Relativ früh morgens sind alle Geräusche im Haus sehr deutlich im Zimmer zu hören.

Das Guesthouse hat eine sehr zentrale Lage. Der Service war ausgezeichnet. Das Frühstück war sehr gut! Die Einrichtung des Hauses ist sehr geschmackvoll und passt gut in das Ambiente von Stellenbosch.

Ylg was comfortable. Friendly receptionist and staff. Was adequate for our needs for a one night stay. Will definitely return.

Schnuckelig, Zentral gelegen, guter Ausgangspunkt man spricht auch Deutsch.
