Area information
Paarl is the third oldest European settlement in South Africa and boasts many well-maintained and attractive Cape Dutch houses, beautiful gardens and streets lined with old oak trees.
The district is particularly known for the huge granite rock that is Pearl Mountain (Paarl Rock). It also has a number of scenic drives, a nature reserve, hiking trails, golf courses, health spas and the Paarl wine route, with its many wine tasting opportunities (including vintages from the famous Nederburg estate) and excellent restaurants.

By car:
- Coming from Cape Town, follow the N1 in the direction of Paarl.
- Take exit number 55 and turn left at the stop street.
- Continue along Main for 3,5 kilometres.
- You will see Zomerlust Guesthouse on your right-hand side.
