Score from 221 reviews Very good
We upgraded our room to a honeymoon suite and stayed therefore in our own cottage with lots of space and equipped with a cosy bed. The location, outside Stellenbosh, was very scenic and the Zorgvliet winery has some delicious wines to taste. We ordered dinner to eat on the property, so we did not have to drive any more. The dinner was of good quality too.
For our taste the room looked a little too bare, especially when all walls, the ceiling and the floors just show the concrete, they are made of.
STAFF AND AMBIANCE
The location, place, beds , comfort , staff and surrounded by grapes and mountains were all above expectation. Could have stayed much longer.
The location was great.
The soiled bathrobes!
Old buildnings, made modern. Verry nice wine tasting on The farm. And Nice surroundings.
Staff - excellent
Fantastic location, friendly, helpful staff, amazing rooms.
Extremely limited menu and the "chef" doesn't know how to boil an egg! Also rules about noise and not playing ball games by the pool should be strictly encforced - screaming children really detract from the peace and quiet.
Room was very comfortable, nothing to dislike about this place.
Hunting for crickets (insects) throughout the night, they were huge !!
Everything! Staff, accommodation all excellent. Loved the wine tasting. Cannot fault the whole experience.h
It was handy for us coming from a lunch at Delaire.
The bathroom was quite austere with a concrete floor that could have been a lot cleaner around the edges. Only 8 beds around pool, had to lie on the grass. No early breakfast option.
Beautiful rooms. Good breakfast.
No dinner dining facility.
Nice blend of traditional, colonial feel with modern, style and comfort. Set in a lovely spot between majestic mountain peaks it is easy to relax, unwind and enjoy life here.
While the estate's restaurant and picnic area is nice for lunch, the onsite evening restaurant leaves room for improvement in terms of food, service and ambiance. Eat out in the evenings.
The staff in the lounge were exceptional. The food was great. Breakfast was simple but fantastic. The views are absolutely stunning. The rooms were extremely spacious and luxurious.
Little things - the safe in the main room was not working. The airconditioner remote in the twin room was not working, and the bedside lamp globe was fused.
We loved the location, size, view, service, lounge and excellent breakfast !
What an incredible place. Everything was perfection. Would recommend it to anyone thinking of staying here.
The setting is spectacular and the rooms are huge and superbly decorated. What a truly lovely place! Would return in a heartbeat.
Nothing at all, just wish we could've stayed longer!
Food at breakfast ; room size and decor,
The location is amazing with views on mountains and wine fields. The complex is small an intimate.
The restaurant food is not the best. The simple plates they offer were not well prepared.
Location great and there is so much potential with better management.
Rooms and facilities was not clean. Staff friendly but unprofessional. There is a issue with maintenance and/ or management
The food was unbelievable, there was picnics and vast green areas for kids or walking. The landscape was incredible and everywhere you looked was magical. Rooms have a lot of space and comfortable.
The bathrooms were not entirely clean.
- unfriedly staff - scruffy resort - poor breakfast - honeymoonsuite does NOT have a view. it located directly beside the parking space of the wine tastery. - wifi system is set up in the honeymoon suite! so if they have internet connection, be prepared to be woken up early in the morning from the staff because they want to check the system! - 4 bee nests in the rood of the honeymoon suite terrasse! - expired drinks and food in the minibar!!! (2013!!) - broken hair dryer - internet connection poor overall
Location and ambience of the whole set-up. Breakfasts were very good as were the evening meals. Were very accommodating to welcome my overseas travelling friends who were staying away in Stellenbosch
Could not really find fault with anything.
There's nothing more to say - this is an outstanding place to stay. Great food, great vines and cozy and charming hotel rooms sourrounded by the vineyard.
I would go back to Zorgvliet - but I would not stay in the honeymoon sweet again. It was not worth the money. The rrom was not cleaned and internet was not working but the staff did not care. Remote place - only stay here if you have a car.
