Situated in the forested Ubizane Wildlife Reserve, this lodge in the heart of Zululand features a garden with a swimming pool. Guests can sleep in luxurious rooms with a thatched roof. With wooden floors and a spacious modern bathroom, all air-conditioned rooms at Zululand Tree Lodge come with a balcony and view of the Fever trees. Each bed is elegantly draped with mosquito nets. A buffet breakfast is served daily in Tree Lodge's restaurant, which overlooks the gardens. There is an adjoining veranda terrace where guests can relax on reed sofas and chairs. Free parking is provided. The staff can take care of babysitting while parents enjoy rhino spotting in the adjacent Hluhluwe and Umfolozi Game Reserves. The lodge is situated a 5-hour drive from Johannesburg and 260 km from Durban and its international airport. The nearest town, Hluhluwe, is 4 km away. A vast improvement from the last time I stayed many years ago +- 10 yrs The food extremely costly when there was no choice of food & worse I could not eat it as chilly/cheyene or similar spice was liberarally put on everything including roast potatoes and vegetables - I am allergic to this family of spices. Even though I did not say something, surely the staff should have seen I did not touch my served up plate that there as something wrong?!, Why is the coffee/tea hidden away?

Das Wohnen in den "Baumhäusern" ist schon etwas Besonderes. Das haben wir sehr genossen. Das Personal ist sehr bemüht, manchmal wirkt es aber arg aufgesetzt. Frühstück und Abendessen entsprechen in ihrer Qualität nicht dem Preis, den man bezahlen muss. Der Ranger, der mit uns die Gamedrives gemacht hat, wirkte nicht besonders interessiert uns etwas zu erklären. Dafür sind die Drives zu teuer!
