the road to get you there
The staff were welcoming, attentive and knowledgable. The cottage was very comfortable, beautiful setting and the food was excellent
Great venue! Good food with excellent restaurant staff.in attendance. We found the accommodation very clean and comfortable and will recommend Zuurberg Mountain Inn to any traveller.
WiFi coverage should be extended to cover the entire property.
The location is fabulous the service, friendliness and efficiency of the staff superb we loved the happy atmosphere
If the road there can atleast be tared
Loved the location & accommodation.
The set menu was too much food, would have preferred an a la carte Menu.
staff very helpful. Rooms very comfortable and spacious. cars washed without being requested to do so.
Minor details e.g. aircon not working properly, gate to outside shower broken, garden lawn could be weeded and edges trimmed. Bathroom could have a few robe hooks
Such a welcoming place! Zuurberg was an absolute pleasant surprise for us after a long and twisty drive up the mountain. Trust us, it is well worth the effort to get here. And after driving the road once, we realized it really wasn't that far from the main entrance to Addo. In fact, a section of the Addo Park runs beside the property. We hiked right outside our door into the park (not the area where the animals are though). The owners and staff couldn't do enough for us and were always so approachable. There is definite pride of ownership here. The rooms are large, spotless and nicely arranged. The owners have thought of everything, right down to bath salts and sherry! They constantly inquired whether things were suitable or if we needed anything. The food was delicious and there were plenty of choices. We enjoyed meeting in the bar area for pre-dinner drinks, or relaxing near the fireplace afterwards. The owners made all the arrangements for our safari which we highly recommend. You can drive through Addo on your own but there are endless roads. The guide knew exactly where to go and his knowledge and experience were very much appreciated. We look forward to coming back here in the future. This is an affordable 5* location in our opinion!
our room had plumbing problems and no hot water at one stage. Buffet is overpriced
Lovely room with outside shower
Food too expensive. Bordering on ridiculous price for buffet dinner.
Location not too far from Addo Elephant Park. Staff very helpful and kind. Very nice views, remote location. Good kitchen.
Road to the hotel is gravel, not tarred, so 15 km takes ca. half an hour.
It is an offbeat upscale place. Belmont and Tansy the lodge dogs don't hesitate to lay down in front of the fireplace or come in the pool. There were families, mature couples, and young couples -- I fit right in even though I was a solo traveler. The directions to the inn are well signed along the way.
Everything - would definitely recommend to friends and family and have already done so.
The braai- amazing. The staff were so friendly.
We didn't like the Carvary meal- with so many foreign guests( we were the only South Africans) they could have showcased our SA food instead of a traditional English assortment.
The good plain cooking and the assortment of salads and fruit for breakfast.
No complaints. Staff all most helpful.
Rooms nice and airy and comfy beds! Front reception warm and welcoming! Game drive great and most informed game guide with great sense of humour .
The drive up the pass quite long and so cant just "nip" back for a quick drive around park .But still view and scenery great. Sadly some staff very un-trained and need to jack up their service. Do think the management need to address this as some havent a clue .This is simple -teach them and all will be solved ! thanks
Staff helpfull & friendly, super views, chalet accommodation & very good food.
Closer parking to chalet required, pool & pool area requires upgrading. long drive on dirt road but worth the drive.
