It's an interesting city with some old and new neighborhoods, good night life, an overcrowded market and bus station and a few historic buildings. A bit dirty in some streets and the market. A few beautiful churches and tall buildings. The cultural village and the museum are ok. Never walked outside in the evenings. I was advised to take a taxi, but daytime I felt zero danger. Public transport in the city is not clear for travelers, so either walk or take a Yango. You can take buses to go to other destinations like Livingstone, Luangwa or Mfuwe from the main bus station and fly into other regional and international cities from the airport.
Not a major tourist destination, but good for a few days as a central city in Zambia.

Lusaka is an interesting city.
Lusaka is an interesting city. It has most of the basic stuff that anyone would desire. It's a slow city though. Albeit literally speaking (Lusaka traffic will humble you😅) and economically.
Most establishments close by 8 pm. Except bars and liquor stores. Lusaka's night life is only dependent on alcohol and club life. If you are looking for a romantic night out, Lusaka is not for you. At least for now.😂
The city is generally safe. However, it's good to be on the look out as petty thefts just like anywhere else are common.
It's averagely clean with more dirt-roads. The road network has lots of room for improvement. The people are generally kind but language challenges will be your first hit. Even though English is prevalently spoken, people will first address you in Nyanja or Bemba.
The days here are usually super slow too. Banks open at 9 am and most close by 3 pm. If you are looking for food in Lusaka in the early mornings, you may not be very lucky as most places only open at 10 am.
If you are looking for Zambian cuisines, always ask to be taken to a "Matebeto". You will never be disappointed.
It's generally easy to get around Lusaka. However, the mini-buses(public transport buses) are not well labelled. If you don't know exactly where you are going, it's better to use Yango(a taxi-hailing app). There's no Uber here. But if you already have Bolt app, you should be fine.
Great activities you can do is hiking on the outskirts of Lusaka, game rides, museum visits, and especially a visit to the Village in the middle of the city if you like shopping for African memorabilia. Most people here however, prefer hanging out in malls. The most diverse malls are East Park mall, and Manda Hill Mall.

I liked the continental break fast , other food stuffs are too expensive.
I never hard dinner or lunch only breakfast and a beer though the bar is not properly set up. The bar should be separated from the Bar music is the ingredient of the bar and the bar should close a bit later than the restaurant.
this is my observation of the centre lodge that must be improved.

Nice city with laid back people, who are often willing to help.
It is not crowded and one can easily walk in the city without any danger of an accident!
Nshimo (maize flour meal) and chicken stew was my favorite meal!
East Park Mall beams with life... oh, Gran Daddy's is a rocker I am told though I did not stay long enough to see it fill up (happens in the evenings)

Beautiful city in Zambia with lovely friendly people.
Beautiful city in Zambia with lovely friendly people. They have lovely shopping malls as well as a cheap market in the kamwala district. Kabwata cultural centre in Lusaka sells some of their traditional clothes and souvenirs. There are also National Parks where you can go on safari and see various animals, the 'Big 5'. Definitely worth a visit.

The road from Malawi Boarder to Luwangwa bridge is very good. But from the Luwangwa bridge to Lusaka is not good. In some places it is shocking. The Roads in Lusaka itself have been upgraded and the flyovers have certainly improved the traffic flow.
The staff were great, especially Ernest, and the cleaning crew. Beds were comfortable, mini fridge and safe were nice amenities.
The location was super: walkable to East Park, Manda Hill, etc.
It was nice to have Orange/Cucumber water available in the entryway at all times, for immediate rehydration.
The pizzeria on the grounds is excellent (bravo Gaetano!)
I would stay here again, but ask for a quieter room. The price was reasonable for Lusaka.
I give it a high rating because I am being picky about my dislikes. Ie. it was fine! :-)
.
I think the hotel was decent.
I like the neatness and coolness…
The staff are very affable and amiable people, they’re quite friendly even to the security personnel.
Didn’t have breakfast not because it wasn’t provided, but because I ain’t really a breakfast person, so I can’t give any opinion on it…
The location is on the road, so it’s kinda good should you want the taxis to locate you easily.
I think that’s it for now, and thank you😊
I booked this hotel after our long trip to Lusaka because our own accommodation was not ready and we were extremely tired. We stayed one night. The hotel was nice and the personnel were kind, polite and helpful. The room was big and the bed was huge and comfortable. I loved that we had complimentary glass bottles with water instead of plastic ones in our room. We had very good breakfast with a great variety of food, cakes etc.
the staffs were all great, from the reception, to the cleaning staffs and managers. the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in comparison to other hotels. the laundry service was good. the restaurant and bar managers were helpful. Special thanks to Joyce and team.
the room and the entire hotel was really nice, stylish and clean. With great decor. For anyone looking for an Instagram worthy place. I highly recommend.
Clean rooms with modern furniture, including a desktop (unfortunately, the Wi-Fi connection is weak if you try to work on it) and a confortable bed: a value for the money, regarding the quality of the rooms. Good ambience on the lobby and central location: ideal for doing business in downtown Lusaka. There is a Lancet Laboratory very close, something useful in case of need to be tested of Covid-19.
I was deeply impressed when the hotel manager came to my room to see how to address the issues I raised on booking.com.
Shortly after the manager visited my room the falty TV was replaced.
Out of all the hotels in Lusaka that I stayed in. This one has the least mosquitoes which is very important because of the malaria most days there was not a single mosquito.
The hotel is downtown and I like the location since we used a bus to get to Lusaka from Livingstone. The hotel staff is very professional. The rooms were very comfortable. The breakfast was a fully stocked buffet, we enjoyed it. They even had a pancake machine!
The location was a bit far from Lusaka downtown but in walking distance to two malls. Apart from an Indian restaurant there was only a KCB. The Escape Lodge is a spacious guesthouse with a small swimming pool. Rooms were proper and clean. Staff was friendly.
The hotel is located in a very good area, town center and it enabled us walk around town and visit a few places and shops without the inconvenience of traffic. That was a plus for us.
The hotelvl staff are always friendly, the breakfast has not changed in the number of years I have been travelling and staying there, maybe time to offer something different
