Occidental Miguel Angel & Urban Spa

The Occidental Miguel Angel is not a cheap hotel, but for a small conference, it offers a good value for money. The staff is friendly, and the support for conference events is excellent. The rooms are clean and the hotel WLAN works smoothly and allows VPN traffic.

During winter months, the rooms and public spaces are chilly, as the insulation of the windows is poor. While the computer network works well, stationery and the TV sets located in the rooms is not at par with the rest of the services: the writing paper is not of good quality and the TV sets are outdated.

It was convenient for the Metro station which is about 10 Mtr from the front door.

This hotel is advertised as 5-star. The public areas are, in todays terms, old-fashioned 4-star, whilst my room are 3.5-star due to poor mantenance and lack of in-room facilities expected of a 5-star establishment. The value for money is very poor, with breakfast costing €25 extra - more than double that which would be expected in a similar hotel. The attitude of the older staff was poor towards visitors and they seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves than serving clients. Check-out time was extended due to the inefficiencies of the front desk staff and a cumbersome paperwork system. At peak times lengthy queues developed due to only 2 check-out staff being present, whilst others stood around idlyling.

The hotel need maintenance , the room had bad smell , was small and looking a wall . the crpet was dirt and the price for this quality is too high . we could have change only one room. Breakfast buffet is riducoulos for the price we paid.

It was a pleasant surprise to find hotel at such a good standard

Club level reception extremely helpful; the club facilites are excellent and provide a welcome added bonus to the stay

The foyer was lovely and bright however the rooms/corridors felt a bit dated and dusty.

Location is very close to the center of Madrid.

Shower cable was broke.Very old furniture.We get the room for the smoker so everything smell on cigarettes.View of the room was very bed actually it was wall.No daily light in the room.

The Spa area was fantastic and very relaxing after a day touring around Madrid.

The prices within the hotel would suggest that they are not interested in tourists using their restaurant / bar - breakfast €25 each , sandwich at the bar €10, bottle of water in room minibar €3.75, before VAT! This hotel is situated in the Financial District and is more focused towards Business customers.

Closing hours of swimming pool - unacceptable.

Es un hotel muy tranquilo, no se oye nada por la noche.

El Hall muy bonito e impresionante pero las habitaciones no son 5 estrellas, son normalitas, suelos de moqueta, baños antiguos, pero todo bastante limpio que es lo importante.

Habitación individual muy antigua y pequena, el hotel es demasiado antiguo y no cumple estandares de un 5 estrellas. Desayuno con 26,05 € muy caro, me fue a una cafeteria a lado del hotel.

Las estancias comunes son muy grandes. No son muy acojedoras. El desayuno es muy caro
