Set in the former Jewish Quarter of Ronda, this charming, traditional-style hotel enjoys beautiful views of the medieval town and the mountains.
Relax in the tranquillity of the lovely Moorish-style garden in the hotel. You can also take a dip in the small swimming pool to cool off from the hot Andalusian sun. The hotel boasts a rustic, Moorish-style décor throughout, with attractive tiled floors and traditional ceramics. There is also a restaurant onsite, where you can enjoy tapas at lunchtime, or local-style cooking in the evening.
The hotel is located opposite the former Moorish baths, which are considered one of the finest examples of an Islamic monument dating from 13th century.

Alavera´s nine rooms are all fitted with central heating and en suite bathrooms, and have superb views of the Serranía de Ronda, the city walls surrounding Ronda and the horse riding school "Real Maestranza de Ronda". At the back of the hotel is a split-level garden complete with swimming pool and garden furniture. Guests can also enjoy the library and the lounge, as well as the dining-room, where patrons can sample delicious dishes, largely prepared with organically-grown foods, and excellent wines from far and near.
The hotel restaurant offers a daily selection of local tapas for lunch.
In the evening, you can enjoy a dinner of Moroccan and Andalusian dishes if you dine with 7 other guests or more. This must be booked at least one day in advance.

Just metres away are two of Ronda´s oldest bridges, the beautiful archway of Philip V and the square of the "Ocho Caños". This was the area of Ronda which Francisco Rossi, the Italian film director, chose to film "Carmen". Just above the hotel are the battlements of the old Moorish citadel and two of Ronda´s finest Mansion houses: the Salvatierra Palace and the House of the Moorish King".
Alavera´s unique location, below the town of Ronda (only 6 minutes walk) and looking out onto the countryside that stretches away from the back garden (seeing the horse riding school "Real Maestranza"), make it the ideal choice for those seeking peace and quiet and perfect scenery for walks, bird watching and horse-riding.
From San Pedro (Costa del Sol) A397 To Ronda. Go through the old town, cross the bridge and take first street right (Calle Rosario). Right at the end, down hill to the Fuente de los Ocho Caños (fountain). Left here and then first right down hill and cross bridge to the Arab Baths; hotel next door.
Due to road improvements (from end August) by the council the access described above may be closed. If so please use the alternative route below.
If you are arriving from Granada (A-367) or Sevilla (A-376) follow direction to San Pedro de Alcántara (Costa del Sol). You will arrive a roundabout. Follow post sign to “Barriada San Francisco” (a quarter of Ronda town). Go through the new estate.
If you are coming from San Pedro de Alcántara (from the Costa del Sol, via A-376) take first entrance (Barriada San Francisco as well). Do a U-turn at the first petrol station and head away from Ronda (ask the petrol pump attendant for wright way. He will be pleased to help you). You should then take the first turning to the left and follow a dirt track for approximately 800m to the parking of the hotel (post signed).
