Location! Best in Alicante! Flexibility of staff on room change (one side to the marina; front to the street - great views but noisy 4001; other side to the seaside and beach 4029; middle to the pool and sea) a lot to choose from! My top 5 even on breakfast. Big anonymous hotel - I like them! Cold and shadowed pool - in October completely useless (maybe in summertime..). Indoor pool extra paid 9 eur, such a hotel must have it included in price!! Too expensive minibar ridiculous as for Spain (but just walk across the street to the shop and you are independent). Anyway I would like to be back at Melia asap ;-) |

Perfect location, great views from the room. Ridiculous cost of using the internet. And shouldn't charge to use the swimming pool and spas... you pay enough for the room already!!! |

Everything about this hotel is excellent - first class facilities, friendly staff, location.. I would recommend it to anybody. The Blu Bar, which was expensive and boring. |

Location was superb, breakfast was the best we have ever had. Tapas bar and staff good Reastuarant staff were not very attentive for the price of the food we had to ask twice for things and they appeared to be snooty and didnt like the fact that we were english, |

The location is excellent for both the beach and the city, a very short walk to both. Views on the beach side of the hotel are superb. Pools were very cold and the main pool only gets sun for a short time earlier in the day. But there is a sun terrace to the marina side of the hotel for later sun. |

I thought the Hotel was clean and the staff spoke English quite well. The Hotel itself has some amazing views with proximity to the beach and the city excellent. The breakfast buffet was also fabulous and well worth paying for as part of your stay rather than adding it after. I thought the food and services were quite expensive. I had wanted to borrow an iron to press a pair of trousers and a blouse but they only do that as part of a laundry service, so I had to pay €11 to get these two items pressed and wait a full day for it. A bowl of soup was €9 delivered to my room and as I had to leave a tip, it cost even more. I thought these were expensive, but others may disagree, I still really enjoyed my experience at the Melia... |

short distance to the beach and the promenade. fairly good room size and comfort. on saturday night impossible to sleep until 4 a.m. due to rock bands and/or amateurs performing on temporarly installed stage/podium at the beach just in front of the hotel. echo of drums hard to stand. not a word of warning at the reception whilst checking in - room should not have be given that night. |

Tthe location and even hotel cannot be beat. We managed to have a balcony view of the small beach and it was beautiful. While you should visit the beach, ask the hotel staff for travel details to playa San Juan (beach) was is simply breathtaking and about 20 mins away on the tram and not even mentioned in the travel guides The hotel is probably past its prime, but still nice. |

The location is amazing. As we were only there for 3 nights, we got everything we required from a short break, and the views were stunning. The breakfast is just great and we didnt have to wait for long to be seated considering how big and busy the hotel is. Great location.. |

The convenience of the beach next to the hotel was a huge bonus for us. You could just walk outside and the beach was at back of your hotel. The hotel was extremely quite during the night giving you the opportunity to enjoy a good nights sleep. A great shopping centre (Plaza Mar) within 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel. |

Close proximity to local amenities. Great location, very helpfull staff, great rooms. Cleanliness of the room fantastic. Had a late flight on return as a result we were givin a late checkout with no charge which was very helpfull. Drinks in the bar very expensive, E3.50 for a sprite? |

Melia Hotel is located right beside the beach and the old town. While rooms are small our room had a lovely balcony facing right onto the beach. We caught some beautiful sunrises. Staff were extremely unfriendly. Services such as pool and gym were available but were operated by another company and had to be paid for at a rate of E9 per visit. Internet access was E4 per half hour which is a bit steep in this day and age. The hotel had little or no information available at receiption, i.e., local attractions, spa treatments available in the Wellness Centre, etc. |

location Very disappointing. Lack of promised sea or harbour view. Our room looked at a wall and a port building. Queues for the buffet breakfast. |

Good location with very nice facilities. The front desk staff was less than friendly. A little bit of an attitude received upon check in rather than a nice welcome. |

The location next to the beach and port was great. Very slow check-in and poor standard of English by lady on reception. She left me waiting a long time while she spoke to colleagues in Spanish and answered incoming calls so I had no idea what was going on. She should have given me her full attention and kept me informed of check-in progress. There was no directory of hotel services in the rooms - in either Spanish or English. The hotel is probably losing business because of this (on hotel service offerings). The hotel pool is small with very few sunloungers - it needs to provide more. |
