The location was fantastic, right in the middle of the Born area of the Gothic Quarter. The rooms were unique compared to others I have stayed in. The staff was excellent and couldn't have done more to help or give directions and advice. I'm soory to say I don't speak great Spanish and mostly, their English was of a very high standard. The coffee and bottle water available freely was a good idea and the coffee there is excellent quality too. Cleaning staff were great: very unintrusive and efficient. The toilet was in a frosted glass-doored 'case' as opposed to a proper en-suite. |

Original and unique styling with a good location in the Born district and close to the city centre Some more storage in the rooms for clothes and shoes. It is adequate for a few days. |

El born is a very nice area of Barcelona. Hotel is situated great in El Born. Hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpfull. Could park my car in a parking near by. Hotel room was good, with nice led lights. Be yourself, help yourself is an option that I have never seen before in a hotel. Very nice to get tea, coffee and water when you like. Not suitable as a buisiness hotel, but who cares... |

Novel decor; engaging lighting scheme; low-key but friendly staff; clean and bright; free tea, (good quality) coffee and cold bottled water; free internet; advanced television set; good value; excellent location (also walking distance from drop-off point of bus from Gerona airport). |

hip and trendy design of the room and hotel in general, friendly and helpful staff, nespresso machine, welcome pack, electronic facilities (possibility to plug in i-pod), etc, etc.... walls are too thin, we could hear the neighbour.... |

You can't ask for a better location than this hotel. It's near tons of shops and restaurants but is just far enough away from the noise that it makes a wonderful retreat. |

Location is exellent! Design was very unusual (see-through shower in the middle of the room, changing lights inside and outside the rooms), but refreshing and chic. . Staff was helpful and nice. Free coffee, tea, water and internet in the louge was a very nice bonus. There was no decent wardrobeIn the room. Design is unique and not suitable for everyone. |

The hotel was basic, as the name suggests, but had everything we needed for a short break. I particularly liked the imaginitive use of lighting, it produced a very different atmosphere. Choice of tv channels was poor and entertainment system was not user friendly. No hot water in the sink and no temperature control on the shower |

We thought the rooms were a most unusual design but very comfortable. We liked the free unlimited access to tea, coffee and water. Only 10/15 mins walk from the main tourist areas. We will stay in a Chic and Basic again. |

The lighting in the rooms.. I understand the theme but could have been warmer (less fluro blue) but i realise this is a quetstion of taste. The only other thing was the privacy when having a shower.. no option but to keep the blind down and to control it you have to walk to the far side ie in front of the window. Would be better to have 2 individual blinds on the window |

i love this hotel and i would be very happy to return, the rooms are amazing and defo worth the money, the LED lights made for very interesting nights and kept the patner amused for a while, it does exactly what it says its basic but well thought out (chic) although when you first arrive and come out of the lift you are faced with lots for different colours (LED lights) and its a little shock,but... we were not to keen on the service in the white room, they had one customer and all tables empty we only wanted a drink and he checked his diary ,which had nothing written in it, thought about it for a minute and told us we had 30 mins making out he was going to be fully booked for the night, we laughed it off with a very large jack daniels and a bottle of wine and stayed longer then he wanted,... |

We loved the novelty of the lighting. Comfortable bed. Fun shower. Great tea & coffee making area. Helpful staff. Good location. Left luggage facility after checkout. Good entertainmant selection if you pay for it. Lack of storage space for clothes but we got extra hangers as soon as we asked. |
