100% positive impression of Gastehaus Gran Via. We had a very cousy room that was kept clean and tidy during our staying there. It's situated almost in the very centre of Barcelona, this neighbourhood is very beautifull. The viev form our window was amasing. The last but not the least the Breakfast and Dinner provided by this hotel was on a fantastic level. We paid 7.50 for Buffet Breakfast and 5eur. for dinner.A great variety of quality Spanish food and very friendly staff. |

The location is superb for the price. Only 2 minutes away from the nearest tube station and only 3 stops away on the metro from the centri gothic areas. Or if u prefer walking, its only 10-15 mins away. The reception. It is not open most of the time and you will need to call the person once u arrive to make sure he waits for you at the front door of the building. |

Friendly staff. We were given a free dinner. Room was clean. Very loud at night! Bathroom was dirty and small. Bed was very uncomfortable. The pictures aren't actually where you stay-they have 4 buildings. Far away from anything. |

It was a cute hotel near the metro station. Was very easy to get around town. I would stay there again. The staff spoke limited english, but we still were able to comunicate clearly. The directions from the website for using public transportion to get to the hotel were difficult to follow and missleading. |

Location is good - close to Rocafort metro station and to Placa d'Espanya with a stop of Aerobus (a bus from/to airport); if booked in advance it is cheap; the linen is excellent. It is noisy! It is not the street that you hear at night and early morning - it is staff, who doesn't bother to speak in a low voice, guests, who is looking for the staff to check in or check out in the middle of the night, and more horrible was noise of a flushed water, running down the tubes right outside your window making you think you sleep in a toilet. |

Central, clean, comfortable, cheap; what's not to like? The lift in the main building (we were in the annex a block nearer Placa D'Espanya same buidling as 'Opencor' supermarket) is a bit eccentric - make sure all doors are properly shut or it'll jam - but it's part of the place's charm. And I can't believe some reviewers complain about lack of English - It's in Catalonia ,Spain guys - English is not obligatory. |

location, price, cool space The only thing I didn't like was there really was not a reception area and the hotel stafff were not readily available - we got lucky as a staff member was just walking into the hotel while we wanted to check in - had he not been there at the same time we would have had to wait outside. Instructions on how to check-in, get in to the hotel would be very helpful and appreciated |

We had an excellent breakfast We were staying in a sad seventies building, not the little gem advertised, with a bathroom from the same era. The bottom of the door was rotten, and the bath had been painted, not re enammelled. There were no tooth mugs, although we were given them when we asked. The water from the bath took forever to drain away |

This hotel is a modern approach of the future hotels/apartments with low cost and an excellent service in what you really need (cleanliness, friendly atmosphere, discretion, excellent location in the city) with no expensive and unnecessary services. It is an intelligent hotel. |

THe price, I don't think I could find a cheaper hotel in Barcelona. I've never seen a smaller and older elevator. The room has no central heating, just a small stove. |

The room is relatively spacious as compared to normal budget hotels. There was a few blackouts (power failure) for the first few days. However, this problem was rectified by the staff after a few days. |

Comfortable beds, clean rooms, friendly management When we arrived at the hotel the reception was already closed and we could not enter the place. Instead we needed to dail a telephone number which was switched off! Luckily one of the neighbours knew how to reach the receptionist. |

It had an excellent location on the red line, a quick subway ride to Catalunya and Las Ramblas. 25E (including luggage) from the airport taxi fare. It is a hotel on one floor of a regular apartment building, so that's something to be aware of when you're trying to find it. They required a charge of E25 for a late check-in (our flight got in at midnight) Checking in was not simple: it was complicated to try to figure out who to buzz and how to get in, we were told that we were staying next door (in another apartment building) that had a flat reserved for the hotel patrons. This was fine, but a nuissance given the late hour and having to move the luggage again. There were two washrooms in the flat we stayed in for 6 rooms. One was very clean, the other was average (slightly older). |

The room we had was in the main part of the Gastehaus Gran Via. It was clean and comfy and suited our needs. Free internet was very useful for checking prices and restaurant locations. Location was ideal for getting into the centre (3 minute walk to 2 metro stations) and an easy walk to the Placa Espanya. Not a typical hotel it was more like renting a bedroom in a flat, loved the old lift that took you up to the 4th flloor! Only a couple of minor things wrong with the place. The walls were a little thin (you could here people coming in and the next door neighbours washing up!!) and the hotel staff were generally not there (though only a phone call away if needed). |

The location is great, wolkable distance to the centre. It was not that expensive. The room which we were given did not match to the rooms that are advertised at the web-site. It is not so cozy and stylish like at the pictures and you must even pay when want to watch the TV. |
