Classy hotel in it's day. Clean room. Central position. Public rooms and corridors much smarter than rooms. |

Location was perfect, staff pleasant and helpful, room very nice and a little different to the usual bland hotel room. Would certainly use again. Sound insulation between rooms was not great. Location did give downside in street noise, although not obtrusive. |

My husband and I loved the location on Granvia Ave, very convenient to restaurants, shops and sightseeing. It was only a two block walk from the Airport Bus stop in Placa Catalunya so we didn't need a taxi - we arrived at night and felt very safe walking to the hotel. Staff kept our bags for us the next day while we went sightseeing which was very nice and then we left for a 7 nt Mediterranean cruise departing from the port of Barcelona. The TV didn't work and it looked like it hadn't worked in the last ten years. We really wanted to watch Spanish TV in the evening. Room was outdated with an uncomfortable mattress- no coffee or tea pot in the rm like our other hotels in Europe. Breakfast was too expensive so we went without. |

Location, common areas, 2 of the front desk staff TV’s remote was not in the room and TV could not be switch on manually. I called reception and was told that it’s late and I have to wait till morning. I got water from mini bar and it was warm because fridge was off. Also, no price list for mini bar and no Bible. Blow dryer was barely blowing. On one occasion, no help with luggage was available - short stuffed. Reception’s staff represents all kinds. Some very nice and some not at all. Same applies to the English language skills. |

Location, location, location ... close to everything - tourist area, airport bus, metro without the high prices. We really liked the historic aspect of the hotel design not very close to the train/bus station |

The hotel has a perfect location in the centre of Barcelona with a metro station just outside. It is within walking distance of La Rambla. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, and there were 3 computers with internet access. Nice hotel lounge and back yard with tables and a fountain. There were no coffee making facilities in the room. The air conditioning in the room, although turned off, was dripping water, and nothing was done about this when reported to the staff. We were charged for items not taken from the minibar. When this was pointed out to the staff (manager?), the amount was reduced, but still to an amount higher than what should have been charged. |

The only comment is that it probably once was a beautiful hotel - common rooms are gorgeous but rooms are not being maintained up to standards - rooms are furnished with cheap or battered furnishings. |

Staff was very accomodating and helpful. Also loved the great location. We got a room for 3 persons. The 3rd bed was actually a pull-out and not very comfortable (it also squeaked). |

The foyer was attractive as was the salon on the first floor. It was also close to Placa Catalunya. The airconditioning was abysmal once you left the foyer. Some stFf were enthusiastic and helpful, others were unhelpful. Most staff spoke some English. |

wonderful hotel, old world style, but modern (free wi-fi, for eg), great location, staff very helpful and friendly, rooms clean etc, shower hot. Worth spending some time at the hotel itself because of its beauty and style, but location is such that one spends most of time outside exploring |

Very nice old mansion: the salon and dining room were particulary attractive. The room was more austere than we expected. Few amenities and two regular beds. |

It was central to everything in Barcelona but quiet. The hotel reception gentleman went out of his way to help us with train timetables, even running off a schedule on the computer. |
