The hotel is located right on the LA Rambla, only 200 m from Paya de Catalonia and Court de Ingles. 20 minute walk to the Olympic Port. The roof swimming pool with the woodden deck terrace is splendid ! They let us leave our car in the hotel garage until the evening of our departure date. Easy to miss when you get there by car, no post or sign from the La Rambla side at all so we just drove past it. Turning around and finding the way back is not so easy in the crowded often one way streets of Barcelona. |

our room was classified as superrior but located next to the busy service stairs and lift, which made it very noisy since the early morning. It literarly felt like somebody enters our room again and again. when I complained, they offered me another room, which in their own words "had a worse view", which effectively meant a church wall in fron of the windows. They very arogantly refused to discount the noisy room or to reimburse us in any other way. There are no consierge services, reception solves questions by handing out the leaflets of the venues they get a tip from. Very poor information on the area given.pool is small and gets pretty busy, no enough space arround to relax. Fine for hotel worth 100 euro, not nearly 300 |

Beautifully furnished and well equipped room. Perfect location for the city's sites and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff with good English. I wouldn't consider the hotal a "bargain" as room, food and bar prices are at the upper end. |

We liked the roof top terrace We thought the service in the bar on the ground floor was poor. An elderley man ordered a coffee at the bar, and the waiter did not bring it over to him. |

Clean room, freindly staff and location the air condition of the lobby was so cold that we could'nt enjoy the sitting areas.There was never anyone there. |

Our room was very nicely appointed and very comfortable and we took advantage of the beautiful rooftop terrace for cocktails, tapas and the incredible views every night of our stay. The hotel was conveniently located for all of the weekend activities we had planned and was nice to return to at the end of a busy day. |

The roof terrace is amazing, well worth paying for a drink to laze on the sofas & take in the views of the city. We visited during the end of summer festival Merce 09 & the atmosphere was amazing with lots of open air entertainment. Eventhough La Ramblas is busy, we never heard any noise at night so hotel must have good sound proofing. Small thing, but there were only 2 small milk cartons for tea/coffee, so I rang room service for extra. They brought a small jug of fresh milk..but charged me 3 euros! When paying 220 eoros per night, I would have thought milk would have been included! I did notice other guests bringing milk in from the supermarket. Drinks on the whole we way over-priced, but we expected that in a 4* city hotel. |

The hotel is excellent. Perfect location, great facilities and rooms. The design and decocation are very beautiful. I love it! Internet wireless was poor. I could get a stronger signal from a nearby hotel. |

the space in the hotel/ the air conditioning/ all staff were able to speak English the controls for the air con in the bedrooms were good but guests should be given much more help with learning how to use the controls and "a torch" - the control unit is in a dark cupboard. |

Very nice room. The bathroom was fabulous as well as the rooftop pool and bar. very nice view from the roof. Very clean. |

Wonderful hotel, marvelously located right at the Ramblas. Wonderful atmosphere and decorations. Excellent transport connectivity (Bus, Metro). The terrace at the roof at night is a pure joy. No sounds of connecting rooms or corridor whatsoever ! Excellent affordable Chinese restaurant at the ground floor !! We did not use the breakfast , this is with € 21,- highly overrated. Many many options around for an affordable breakfast. The drinks at the topbar are too expensive. Although a room at the 4th floor, you do hear rumbles of the Metro in the room. Spa was nice but the sauna temperature too low (50c) |

Roof top bar and restaurant, convenience for Barcelona facilities. Setting ie historic building. Very clean and excellent food. Expensive breakfast unless you're a big eater. |

we truly enjoy our stay at 1898, it's central location, friendly and efficient staff, comfortable rooms, spacious and quite common lobby is a plus, will definitely recommend the hotel to our friends and we will be back.. the lighting above the bed |
