The hotel is named after the year in which the final Spanish colonies, the Philippines and Cuba, gained independence. The building was once the headquarters for the Filipino Tobacco Company.

nice hotel with great facilities, particularly roof top bar our room had a lot of noise going on above and below in - it sounded like a trolley being wheeled - from early in the morning to late at night. Not happy with this particularly as we had requested a quiet room |

Style and decoration of the hotel, the atmosphere of the lobby, the spa area, the breakfast buffet (even if somehow expensive)... A very nice place to go... and stay! it should be possible to get a glass of champagne (only big bottles available) |

The rooms were very comfortable and the whole decor very stylish. Despite the proximity to La Rambla it was reasonably quiet Lack of a proper concierge service. We asked for restaurant recommendations but felt the reception staff were just telling us about places they happened to know - not very helpful. Also, unbelievably, the hotel could not exchange our Euro travellers cheques for Euros, directing us instead to a bureau de change nearby who wanted to charge 10%! |

The decor of the hotel was great. It was a very welcoming hotel. Staff were great, rooms were of a good size. I thought the housekeeping staff were very loud banging and hoovering in the mornings and started early.Also the spa didnt do any facials which was dissapointing |

Bedroom very clean and quiet. Staff helpful and friendly. Good position at top of Las Ramblas. You could have a continental breakfast in your room but not in the dining room which made it expensive if you wanted to eat in the dining room just a light breakfast. |

Stylish hotel with professional staff. Nice, although quite small rooms. "Classic"-rooms have no view, but are very peaceful & quiet. Good: Overall cleanliness, everything working well, lounge with computers, in-room Wi-Fi free, complimentary tea-time, spa (incl. in room rate), location. If there would have been a bit more space in room, to fit in a proper armchair, then everything would have been perfect. Breakfast seemed quite pricey, so we ended up having it elsewhere. If prioritizing just cost & location, I might consider choosing a hotel from the old town. But altogether no mentionable defects in the hotel - nice place. |

Very co-operative friendly staff. It was in a great location Very nasty smell in the room however later discovered the same smell in the surrounding streets outside the hotel. Also if you wanted a continental breakfast you could not sit in the breakfast room. |

Good service all around, incl. excellent advice from front desk. Perfect place to stay, good ambience. Best sauna ever: smooth, even heat at 90 degrees, good spa and gym. Top restaurant and good breakfast in house. Perfect location: On Ramblas near Plaza Catalunya, three Corte Ingleses,theatre, opera and other entertainments and services. Good Japanese restaurant on Laietana. Bathroom faucets, I would recommend faucets by Oras, one lever operation: simple and easy to control the temp and flow of water. |

I particularly appreciated the concern and helpfulness of those at the front desk. While my husband was checking in I waited alone in our car outside the hotel. During that time 5 strange men approached me and indicated various problems. Thanks to your staff for their reassurances. My husband, son and I would have enjoyed bar facilities on the roof garden while watching the beautiful sunset over the city. Is the bar closed during the winter months? |

The loc,style,ambiance and staff were excellent I submitted my comments on departure at reception on the official doc. We were so disappointed sun morning to go to the leisure centre to find Sauna not working,steam room partially working and there was no supervision throughout the w/end in the leisure area. It was the main reason we selected the hotel,location was secondary. |

The hotel location is great. It is in the heart one of the famous streets at Barcelona city LA RAMBLA. there is only a strange sound that you can hear it many time and I think it is coming from underground metro way. |

The hotel is located right on the LA Rambla, only 200 m from Paya de Catalonia and Court de Ingles. 20 minute walk to the Olympic Port. The roof swimming pool with the woodden deck terrace is splendid ! They let us leave our car in the hotel garage until the evening of our departure date. Easy to miss when you get there by car, no post or sign from the La Rambla side at all so we just drove past it. Turning around and finding the way back is not so easy in the crowded often one way streets of Barcelona. |

our room was classified as superrior but located next to the busy service stairs and lift, which made it very noisy since the early morning. It literarly felt like somebody enters our room again and again. when I complained, they offered me another room, which in their own words "had a worse view", which effectively meant a church wall in fron of the windows. They very arogantly refused to discount the noisy room or to reimburse us in any other way. There are no consierge services, reception solves questions by handing out the leaflets of the venues they get a tip from. Very poor information on the area given.pool is small and gets pretty busy, no enough space arround to relax. Fine for hotel worth 100 euro, not nearly 300 |

Beautifully furnished and well equipped room. Perfect location for the city's sites and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff with good English. I wouldn't consider the hotal a "bargain" as room, food and bar prices are at the upper end. |
