Location

This is as basic as it gets without being bad. Sufficient channels, bath/toilet/sink is crammed but clean. No useful service offering available in the room. Beds are uncomfortable and move. No seating area other than a chair. Rooms with a view are noisy. It is good if you need to be there but not for vacation or comfort and are not in a bad mood. It has good location and cleanliness but not much else. Overpriced for sure. I went to another hotel and got much more for about the same money and all I gave up was direct view to Playa Catalunya.

The location, ideal!

For 4 days there elevator was out of order and when we arrived we had to carry our luggage for 3 floors. In order to leave our luggage we had to climb down a very steep staircase as the reception is 1 m2 max. Window in the room didn't close properly it was always left ajar and the last day it got stucked and we couldn't close it at all. It's a very old stucture. You couldn't turn on the volume on the tv (probably for not disturbing the neighbours), but as there was noise coming from placa Catalunya you could't listen properly.

The service was excellent. The room was comfortable. I was looking for somewhere to sleep while exploring Barcelona and this place was perfect. I was particularly impressed by the increased security during Catalunya Day when it was wise to be more cautious.

a bit pricey, but the view alone justifies the asking price; more importantly, you cannot get in (or out) without check from the reception, which probably means you can have no visitors; to some it may matter a lot, to others not at all.

The week we choose to stay in Barcelona was the week of a big conference so it was difficult to find a hotel. We paid E169 for one of our 4 nights at this hotel and over E100 for an other. What a rip off, no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, no iron and the staff were so rude when we asked for one making no apologies, no hairdryer a pretty basic item and again the staff were rude when we asked for one. The shampoo/shower gel was not topped up during the 4 days! .Breakfast was very basic. The hotel has a central location but for E498 for 4 nights what a rip off!

The smell, the noise, some of the rooms was small, the breakfast and the high price.

Dislocation, easy to book in advance, clean and tidy room, polite and advanced stuff.

No access to Internet, no set of recharger for mobile.

The location was ideal for a first short trip to Barcelona - right in the centre of the Gothic Quarter overlooking Placa de Catalanya and at the top of Las Ramblas (great atmosphere and not too noisy at night) so within walking distance of many attractions, the market and even the beaches. Good value for a budget-priced break, clean, basic facilities as you would expect for the price but still comfortable, excellent continental breakfast and very welcoming and helpful staff. Very easy access from the airport - the Aerobus stops right opposite the hotel in Placa de Catalanya for 4.45 euros each, so no expensive transfers necessary. We would stay again.

A hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities would be useful in the rooms, however, it is possible to purchase drinks from the dining area at any time. No complaints - we enjoyed our weekend break here.
