this was a lovely hotel we booked room only but after eating once in the restaurant we decided to have all our evening meals there. The choice was excellent for adults but my children would have liked burgers and pizza. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Set in the residential area of Salou, at the heart of the Dorada Coast, this 4-star hotel is ideally situated directly across the road from the beach.

The only residence on the Paseo Maritimo, Blaumar Hotel is set only 5 minutes away from the famous theme park Port Aventura. The hotel itself features: 2 swimming pools (one especially for children); a spa and fitness area with a gym; and a games rooms with a Game Cube and Game Boy consoles.

In the evenings you can enjoy a meal in the restaurant, Arena, before relaxing with a drink in the bar.

The hotel has its own, on-site buffet restaurant, offering a selection of delicious dishes, which changes daily to provide a variety of options. The dishes available include specialities from the grill, authentic regional dishes made with high quality, locally sourced produce, as well as traditional Spanish food. There is a selection of different kinds of bread available and the desserts are made in the hotel’s own patisserie. Healthy options are available and special diets can be catered for on request, including salt-free and gluten-free diets. The restaurant also regularly hosts themed nights, including Italian cuisine, Spanish food and seafood. The buffet restaurant has long, generous opening hours and an extensive wine list offers a selection of Spanish and international wines to complement your meal.

There is also a special buffet for the kids and, for parents with babies; there is a microwave oven to heat feeding bottles.

The hotel also has a pool bar and an à la carte restaurant, Arena.

Area information

The Costa Daurada has over 216 km of beautiful Mediterranean coastline, at the southern end of which is the Ebro Delta.

Costa Daurada’s landscape is an area of great contrast, with places of great natural beauty and interest. The beaches are long, golden and sandy, shelving gently into the clear waters of the Mediterranean.

The region also has its fair share of fascinating tourist attractions, such as the Iberian citadel of Calafell, the ancient Roman Tarraco and the Cistercian monasteries of Poblet and Santes Creus. You could also explore Reus’ impressive Modernist architecture or enjoy a wine tour through the regions that produce some of Spain’s finest Protected Designation of Origin wines.

As a holiday destination, the Costa Daurada is hard to beat and the area features a superb range of leisure and sports facilities and services, which are second to none.

There was a waiter service in the bar in the evening, the holiday was really relaxing.Drinks were reasonably priced No but we went to port adventura 3 days and the taxi there was always 9.50 the taxi back was sometimes 11 euro. It was a very short journey (5mins)and we felt we were being exploited . it would be helpful if the hotel would recommend transport back which we could phone.	10

The pool area was lovely, although in April the pool was cold - didn't stop my two sons (12 & 10) swimming in it! Games room had pool tables / air hockey etc which you had to pay for, and there was a games consul room with free access to 5 or 6 nintendo consuls. The mini disco took place in the bar area each night, although there were other seating areas where you could take your drinks.	9.5
