If I was not paying the joven under-35 tariff (about 105 euros), I would have found this Parador a tremendous rip-off. As it was, the price was about right. The location is certainly stunning and we had a delicious meal in the restaurant (duck paella), but the room itself was incredibly dated, tired and rather bland. Certainly in need of an overhaul. |

Very unique location Due to it's location, you don't have many alternatives for dinner and some of the food wasn't really up to the quality that you would expect in such a location. |

View and location The dinner service was the worst we had in our two weeks of travelling, we were forgotten. Food was served luke warm. Certainly dampened our view of the hotel. |

I loved the ancient castle , I loved the design and the hotel commodities. the rooms are big and spacious, the air is wonderful , the location is enchanting , the food was wonderful ( we ate breakfast ) and the dining room was incredible. the air conditioning did not really function properly , although it was cool enough and wasn't needed. also cadona the nearby town is pretty boring... |

It was awesome to stay in a Castle. The view was breath taking. You could really feel the history. We happened to be there during a festival and got to part take in fire works. we also were able to take part in the festival in town. Staying in the Castle was one of the high lights of the trip. I would try another Parador. The only thing that I would suggest to other travelers is: If you did not drive and have lugguage that rolls, to take the paved street up to the castle. It was very difficult to roll my luggage through the gravel and the uneven surface and my luggage was too heavy to pick up and carry. I actually ruined my luggage. Even thought the paved street is longer it was worth it. We rolled our luggage down. If back packing the gravel shorter walk is very doable. We took the bus from Barcelona as was very difficult to find out about the bus/train schedule. |

The Parador was amazing. The views were spectacular, the room was great, and the breakfast was excellent. The drive to the Parador was very scenic too. |

Fantastic location on top of a hill overlooking all the countryside. Large bedrooms with large marble bathrooms. Tasty food in the restaurants always served with a smile. Huge breakfast choice. The walk down to the village in 38 degree heat. Very steep and hot. But can't realy fault the hotel for that. |

Its setting, high above the pleasant little town of Cardona. Spectacular views of the surrounding countryside (and salt works!). Excellent accommodation in imposing historic building. Not really. But my wife "freaked out" when she discovered that the dark object lying on the bedroom floor was a bat! |

Unique location in a historic castle, set on top of a hill with wonderful views. Our room had a 4 poster bed with a view of the old courtyard. |

We were very pleased with our stay at the Parador de Cardona. It was an amazing experience to be able to stay in a castle. Our children loved exploring the grounds. The rooms were the best we stayed in during our visit to Spain. It would be nice to have a brief written history of the castle available. I would have liked information such as when it was first built, who built it, how it was used, when additions were added and why, etc. A pamphlet could bring the history to life so a visitor could imagine what life was like when the castle was built. Having something like this would have made the stay even more special. |

Great historic castle. I would have liked a tour of the castle - which was only offered on weekends. |

As always, historic paradors are very different from normal hotels. Well restored and appointed. There were not enough areas outside for residents only, where you could relax away from castle visitors. |

The friendly, helpful staff and the beautiful grounds were very enjoyable. The beds were very cheap and not very comfortable. A surprise since the rest of the facility is very nice. I encountered these same beds at all three Parador locations. The only negative factor in an otherwise lovely hotel. |

The location is amaizing - a castle on the top of the mountain!!! Unbeliveble view, like a bird. Beautifull bathroom. Very good breakfast. The room is a bit coldy but was OK. Took a tour in the castle, impresive. Not easy to find, don't arrive in the dark. The GPS left us in the village, as the parador address, had to ask people... |
