Hostal Boqueria

It is centrally located. I only stayed for 2 nights as a stop off to visit Barcelona. The rooms were clean, breakfast basic but fine and staff spoke excellent english and were helpfull.This is an economy hotel with no frills attached and the prices charged reflect this.

The rooms are very small with little or no natural light. It was strange having to go out to the street to see what the weather was like. The entrance was hard to find and the stairs up to the actual hotel seemed like you were entering a very rundown premises. There was a smell which seemed like sewerage when you turned on the air conditioning.

Very central location down the Rambla just opposite the Boqueria Market. Tube station just outside the entrance.

Hotel staff very friendly and happy to help, even at 4am in the morning when one of our party was locked out of the room Very well located in the centre of La Ramblas.

Stairwell leading up to the hotel rooms could do with some attention. The rooms themselves were much better than my initial impression from heading up the stairs

can you pls check if i was charged 2x for the !st night $45.00 because my credit card was charged at the time I booked my reservation and I was also charged another $45 when we checked in. I did not know at this time that my credit card was charged because i thought my card# was asked just to secure the reservation. pls look into this. thanks

The location was good for my purposes as the hotel was really within the so called tourist area.

The location is excellent for transport and sight seeing

The proprietor gave our visa copy to another guest by mistake. We were unsure if this contained all card details. We got the slip back five hours later so this caused an anxious start. This is due to the hotel taking the payment before arrival and having a number of bookings with receipts attached, incorrectly in our case

It was right in the centre of the city, close to most museums and shops, metro and bus stations. The staff was helpful and friendly and spoke English. Furniture and fittings in the bathroom were new or in very good condition. The safe in the room was an excellent idea.
