The position is perfect; rooms was clean; forget about the hotel not having breakfast service: the Mallorquina, one of the best confectioneries/cafés of Madrid is so near you can have breakfast there everyday. Only one towel per person: bathroom could use an upgrade; you have to ask staff to turn ac on every time you want to use it (it's free and works well anyway); staff doesn't speak english. |

It was a great location and the room was clean The staff seemed disinterested. The room was small which is ok, but there wasn´t a window which made it stuffy and the air con kept getting turned off so the room would become hot and stuffy. |

Marble floors in all the rooms, instant hot water in the shower, peaceful and quiet, 2 minutes from the metro and city centre, really nice cafe just around the corner ideal for breakfast/ lunch. |

Our rooms were comfortable, access to shops, restaurants, museums, etc. was great. We had problem with the shower backing up but the staff tried to fix the problem and moved us to another room which was fine. We had a problem with the shower backing up. After reporting it we were told they had put lye in the shower drain to fix the problem. The next shower I took presented the same problem. I had to stand in water up to my ankles to let the water drain in order to rinse the soap off. My feet and toes suffered blisters from the lye in the water. Next morning we were moved to another room which was nicer |

It was near to Puerta del Sol and that was it. booked a double room and got a triple where the single bed was broken. we sat on it and the mattress fell through. On looking at it, some of the slats for the bed were just floating around on the dusty floor. There were bare wires hanging out of the wall held in with gaffer tape. |

The location is great - very close to the Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor, with many restaurants right around the corner and a very good tapas bar Canas y Tapas. Some of the rooms (we stayed there twice) were on the busier street of Esparteros and thus noisy late, there's no working A/C in June so we needed the windows open. It's a basic hostel, small rooms, small bathrooms but adequate and it did have free internet, a plus. It's on the first floor but there's no lift, so you have to lug up the suitcases. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. |

Central location. WiFi worked very well near the lobby. Very noisy at night. Paper-thin walls. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. |
