We loved this hotel. Fantastic location on the Ramblas but amazingly quiet too. The hotel is beautiful with a very warm, contemporary design and beautiful rooftop terrace. We would definitely stay at Hotel 1898 again. It was all perfect! |

The location was fabulous. Hotel was beautiful and tastefully decorated. Staff has been very helpful and service was excellent. We tried to get into the Chinese restaurant in the hotel (June 20th, around 9pm). Food looked great, unfortunately,we did not have reservation. We found the hostess was not too keen to offer any recommnedation nor alternatives to help. |

Staff went out of their way to help you. I had to send a package by FedEx which was not easy but the front desk took full charge of the matter. Loved the roof top swimming pool and the beautiful view of Barcelona. The Gym was fabulous with a huge whirlpool. The rooms were very modern and plush. Free internet access. Very much in the center of action (Las Ramblas) but yet very quiet. Very nice job with the decor. Close to Metro station. |

Hotel atmosphere and style very nice; Room and bathroom were fine; Excellent central location. Extras (breakfast, bar) too expensive; At breakfast yougurt comsumption date overdue...; In the bathroom water pressure could be increased and ventilation could be improved; |

The location, roof terrance, spa, parking and the rooms. The lounge reception area was very cold and completely without people even if the location should drag people in. |

Beautiful hotel. Very well decorated. Great location. The underground pool was amazing and the rooftop pool and bar was also very nice. Not much of a gym. |

Location perfect. The roof garden during the day and especially at night when one could relax on sofas and have a drink and snack. The spa and the meals were excellent. The staff werevery friendly and helpful. Bliss. |

The Hotel 1898 has an excellent location on La Rambla. The roof top pool has a fantastic view over the city. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The bed was one of the most comfortable i have ever slept in! Would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Barcelona |

all staff spoke amazing english and were very helpful and accomodating. beautiful hotel building worst part about our stay was being upgraded to superior room - this meant we had a slightly larger room facing las Ramblas which was noisy every night until about 5.30 or 6 a.m. When we asked to sitch to a quieter room, w were not guaranteed anything, but then were given a very quiet room (smaller, ut at least we could sleep! |

Pleasant with good facilities - pity that breakfast on the roof was limited people smoking and drinking while in the pool |

The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning city views and a wonderful restuarant. The location cannot be beat! Our room was not ready at the time of check in and the staff did not seem overly concerned. As it turned out, we had a lovely lunch at the rooftop cafe, but I thought the front desk could have tried to have been a bit more accomodating. |

The location was ideal to see the Las Ramblas area and the Gothic section of the city. The hotel lived up to expectations. The hotel sits one block off Las Ramblas and can be very noisy. This is no fault of the hotel but may be a drawback for some people. |

I liked the free computers that were provided. We had a room with a private deck which we liked a lot. The roof-top swimming pool, bar, food service and lounging area were a great addition. It is very nice that you can choose a morning paper. It is unfortunate that it is delivered by the maid when she makes up the room. That means, of course, that the paper is not avaiable to read until she shows up. |

The hotel oozed class and luxury. The rooms had a designer feel that you would expect of a hotel charging these sort of rates... why does it not have 5 stars? For the prices that they charge you would have thought that breakfast would have been included rather than an extra 21 euros a person! |

We were two blocks from the market and ate most of our meals in the local areas. We had an inside room upgrade and had this fabulous, huge balcony where we ate the food we bought in the market. Our room was very quiet in spite of the hoards outside. |

Wow!!!! What a perfect hotel!!! We visited Barcelona on May 09 and loved any minute of it - part of that was the hotel. Every time we have entered the hotel it was a joy - great location, great design, spotless, great staff (they were kind, helpfull and always with a smile). If you can afford it - go for it, you wont regret it. |

All staff was very kind. When we had a trouble, the cleaning crew helped us willingly before we call them. And the amenity of the room was enhanced as much as the hotel in Japan,so we spend comfortably and peacefully. |

The hotel was just walking distance of the busy street. but also of the main street , it was also quite at night, you could not hear the noise from the streets below which was good. the staff were not very friendly and no life in the bar at all in the evening. |
