Hotel Principal

Position of Hotel was good for sightseeing and shopping / eating out.Hotel position was in a quiet secluded spot and yet not too far from the main streets.

The beds were hard and un comfortable.

Closeness to La Rambla (shopping) and beach. Hotel staff was nice and always available and the room was cleaned very well every day.

Computers were a little slow and froze up occasionally, but that is not uncommon in Europe. There were 3 computers made available for free with Internet connection, so they were usually available, which is good.

Excellent,centrally located hotel. Superb breakfast.Difficult to understand why this was only classed as a 2 star hotel. All members of our party ;which totalled 9 and ranged in age from 15-78, thoroughly enjoyed their visit.

We visited the Gaudi sights (Park Guell/Gracia area/Casa Mila/Manzana de la Discardia), went to a classical guitar receital and Los Torantos for flamenco, enjoyed meals in restaurants. We walked the Ramblas and visited the harbour. We went to the cathedral and Sacrada de Familia, the Barri Gotic, Placa de Saint Jaume, Placa Catalunya.

We did say on the form but the door stop in the bathroom was right in front of the toilet so when we went to the toilet we frequently hurt our toes. No milk with the tea bags. A Barcelona map in the bedroom would be helpful. The soap is very acrylic and does not rub off and women would like hair conditioner. Uk tv stations would also be usual for this quality of hotel. We thought the hotel was excellent, very clean and well placed, quiet and yet so near the centre of Las Ramblas. The staff were very helpful and spoke English and there was a place to leave our cases on departure. The food was very good and plentiful. Thank you and we shall use you again. We think the star rating should be higher.

Location, price, cleanliness

It was the best hotel we stayed in Europe . My trip included Paris , London and Barcelona . Excellent value for the money . The buffet breakfast has many tasty choices for every taste. Rooms comfortable with AC and the basic bath kits . The reception helped with directions in English which is a big plus as in Spain they dont speak English . It feels like 4 stars hotel .

The neighboorhood .

The hotel has a great location. Close to the Metro and in the heart of La Rambla. Rooms were clean and tidy and we felt very comfortable for the 8 days we spent there. Breakfast was more than enough. Street is not that spooky as some comments say.I would go back there with pleasure.

A nearby pub and some shops brought some noise through the windows at night and early morning. But it was bearable.

Everything about this hotel was great, breakfast was plentiful and dining area kept very clean. Staff were very helpful and polite. It was very close to Las Ramblas but was not a bit noisy.

I liked the convenient location close to the Rambla, Bouqueria and subway. My room was one of the largest and most updated that I've had in Europe. The bathroom had a tub and shower and had nice supplies including a hairdryer. The sheets were luxurious. Breakfast was not included but there 2 small markets and plenty of restaurants close by. I can't believe this is only a two star hotel!
