The staff was really friendly and helpful. It was close to the shopping district. There was a good "pedestrian only" area sourrounding the hotel along with conveniently located metro stations. The taxi did not go to the door of the hotel. We were not informed of the shuttle service from the airport and came to know only after we reached the hotel. The entrance of the hotel can be easily missed the first time around. There is no ramp access to the hotel for a pram. Room service menu was very minimal. Room service ended by 9 pm with only drinks being served until 11 pm (and we found this out the hard way). There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The double bed consisted of two single beds and they kept separating out. The triple room I booked was essentially a single room with two additional cots...so it was really cramped. |

very good location and very open staff.they changed our room 4 times the rooms facing the pedestrian street are vey, very noisy.the AC unit type used by the hotel allows the wind and odours to get into your room from exterior (in one night a car was in fire 50 m from the hotel and my room was full of smoke).etremely noisy guests (arabs with kids) running on the hallways |

I liked the fact you were right in the heart of the main shopping area, with great access to restaurants and shops. The staff very helpful and made you feel very welcome. it was easy to go back to the hotel without having to get a taxi. |

The helpful staff on reception. Ideal location for walking to most sights and close proximity to the metro. The room was cold at night. The barman was not very friendly, otherwise we may have used it more. |

Great central location. Would reccomend the use of the hotel shuttle for transferring to and from airport. information given suggested taxi fare 25-30 euro. 35-40 euro more realistic. |

The staff was very friendly, the room perfectly clean and the bed comfortable. The location could not be better for exploring all parts of Madrid! I had a room with a window to the patio, where I did not here anything from the street but the air conditioning was placed there which was rather loud when I opened the window. |

Very conveniant location. Felt safe coming home in the evenings. The tv channels. Just cnn as the only English speaking channel is too bad. I get so fed up with cnn. It is just flashing the news and sending the same stories over and over again. Cnn is too American. Bbc World could be a better alternativ to cnn. Also the dubbing of foreign films is a unfortunate thing. Much better with keeping the original language and adding sub-titles on. |

Good location, especially for those who want to be near the Gran Via. The breakfast is reasonable, should be improved. The room had a bad little odor, possibly because it was not used for some time. |

The decor was beautiful. The breakfast room particularly was very welcoming and clean, the staff very courteous and friendly. I loved the coloured glass. The bathroom in my room was spotless. Overall I was impressed with this hotel and would like to stay there again. No - a most enjoyable stay- regrettably for only one night. |

Very good refurbished room (not all of the rooms seem to have undergone the same level of refurbishment). Very good value for money. The sound-proofing is a little weak. Sound-insulation of rooms. |

The hotel has a very convenient location and friend staff. The rooms are well decorated, and the one which we had had a large balcony. The breakfast was OK. Good choice for travellers came to roam around in Madrid. |

We had stayed at this hotel 4 years earlier for a 4-night city break. It's had a face-lift since then and this time we had a fairly newly-referbed room on the top floor with an enormous balcony. Regrettably, we were just passing through Madrid, but we would have been pleased to stay there longer. It's very convenient for Sol metro station and the superb, and very cheap, Madrid metro system. |
