friendly helpful staff especially at reception and the bellboy/man.the room was just right nice balconey comfy beds. plenty of storage space for long stays. though the hotel was not in the city centre itself it was there are plenty of bus stops outside side costing only 1euro per person to take you into town. there were only 2 things i did not like, one being that the maid service kept turning the heating on in our room when they cleaned and the other being the moody barmen in the hotel bar! but on the whole a thoroughly enjoyable stay |

Close to where my daughter lives. Familiar; I stayed there twice before. Pretty good breakfast spread. |

The room was comfortable and clean. There were 2 doors between the bed and corridor, and 2 window panes as well - both measures were clearly to cut down noise and I appreciated that. But that's why the loud toilet flushes from the surroundign rooms were so crazy. A lie was impossible as once someone in the vicinity had got up everyone was flushing away! |

The hotel is located right near the Conde de Casal subway station. But if you don't mind walking, the hotel is 25 min away from the Atocha train station and therefore close to the main museums (Prado, Reina Sofia, Thyssen) and the Retiro gardens as well. Aside from the location, the staff was nice and very helpful, the room was clean and comfortable. Also, we booked a very quiet room on the side away from the street. The rooms on the side of the street might be noisier, but in any case if you value quietness this is far better than anything you could find in center city proper (where you must be ready to endure Madrid's endless partying). All in all, this hotel is a great value. The breakfast buffet was neither particularly varied nor particularly good. Better have a sandwich at Rodilla's at the corner on the other side of the street. |

Good value, subway just around the corner, clean rooms, parking garage available stuff was not helpful, my girlfriend had to carry all luggage on her own, even she was asking where the elevator was. They showed her the way but were not interested to help her. Elevators only reachable by several stairs. Internet use not free. |

Claridge was in a somewhat out of the way area, close to metro but a good 30 minute walk to the edge of the park and about an hour walk to Puerta del Sol, etc. Good price for a hotel but better experiences in hostals that are closer to center. Staff was nice except I arrived late at night due to plane delay and man at front door wouldn't let me in to check in! Finally pushed through him to get to a tolerable man at front desk. Hotel was clean and safe. No working air condition, people at front desk could be friendlier. Somewhat out of the way. |

A good sized room for a European hotel and the cafe/bar in the lobby. The bathroom was not as clean as it should have been, it needs to be remodeled, and the shower head sprayed water all over the bathroom. |

The hotel is a bit old, but very clean. The staff talks good english, someting that seems impossible in Madrid. The hotel is located in a nice area near the centre (15 min walk) The metro is very close and well organised, but i prefer a walk trough the parc. You hear every toilet in the hotel flushing, the sound is really annoying! |

The price of the hotel is fare and the best is that it is neighbor subway station. The "bairro" is a little bit far from central area. There is no possible go out on foot. |

Convience to the Metro, the Railway station at Atocha, the El Rastro flea market etc., etc. The small single room which suited my needs for a short weekend stay which did not not have street noise and the reasonable comfort of the room itself . The room was a bit pricey at E50 a night....thought it was worth only around E40. Also the toilet flush noise from adjacent rooms was annoying particularly at night. |

It was fine but nothing too fancy. The staff was attentive and friendly, and desk personnel had excellent English and answered even our stupidest questions. The rooms were quite small, but clean and comfortable. |

Located just a 5-minute walk from central Madrid’s Retiro Park, this modern yet traditional-style hotel is surrounded by the charming streets of the Salamanca district. |
