It is best to ask for a room which is not on the main road and floor 3 or above if you like to have the window open at night. Otherwise it was fine. It is not particularly close to the center but it is in a nice area with lots of shops and some restaurants. We chose this hotel because it was close to where our friends live. |

room large. Lobby Large. Room very dark, windows with view on walls, old and smelly. No internet access in the room, only in the lobby even if they claim the contrary and we pay full price for this. Restaurant and bar depressing, no food service after 10PM (weird for Madrid). People not very pleasant.I booked it because over booking in Madrid due to conference. Never again. |

It is a good prise for a hotel quite close to the center (busstop almost in front of the hotel, the journey to Gran Vía takes few minutes). Shopping and restaurant area is also near. The room was renewed. Breakfast was ok. 30-40 years ago it must have been an almost luxury hotel, but nowdays it looks rather oldish. Other thing: the weather was quite cold during our visit, but no heating was provided. |

Convenient for our visit (concert at nearby Palacio de Desporte). Staff very helpful, breakfast excellent and varied to suit most tastes. Room good, comfortable and pleasant. We will use the hotel (and booking.com) if we go to Madrid again. Thank you. |

location Room very dark and not of a good standard. Staff not very friendly. No tea/coffee making facilities or even a bottle of water provided. No room service late at night and a tiny bar for a hotel with 700 rooms with just one waiter!!!! Waited one hor to try and get a glass of milk!!!! Terrible service. Would not return to this hotel. |

Quiet hotel, excellent for relaxing after a long walk in the town. €1 bus to the Gran Via (6 mins). Check out time is at 12, but they offered us to look after our luggage until whatever time we wanted, for us it was 5.30p.m. This was great. Nice area of the city, beside El Retiro. Avoid the pricey, tiny bar. A can of Nestea €3.40. |

it's a reasonable 3 star hotel (because lacking some facilities), priced (especially breakfast, meals) as 4 star... The internet is not free, very expensive, and because the hotel is huge one cannot find wireless connections from nearby places... |

Location, comfort My room was extremely hot, even with the heating switched off. It was also very dark. If I stay here again I will ask for a room with an exterior view. |

Set just behind the glorious Retiro Park, this modern hotel is just a pleasant walk away from some of Madrid’s most impressive sights. |
The Gran Hotel Velazquez is well located in the Salamanca neighbourhood of Madrid. This commercial area is a short walk from the Retiro Park and Cibeles. |
This hotel is located in the commercial heart of Madrid, next to the Kio Towers on Paseo de la Castellana. It is a functional, modern space, and offers free Wi-Fi. |
This sophisticated hotel offers impressive design and an excellent location on Madrid’s main street of Gran Vía. The large outdoor terrace has superb views of the city centre. |
