The location was excellent and was glad of the very good double glazing. The bathroom was a good size and very well lit. We found the staff to be very helpful also. The beds were too hard, we had to change rooms as the first one was dismal and small. The shower head was appalling, there was no mirror in the bedroom and the breakfasts, although adequate, were not as good as we expected, cold eggs and bacon and the choice was not as good as we have had in other hotels of a similar standard. |

Location was good and good value for money, staff were very pleasant. If I had any complaints whatsoever it would be that breakfast was never hot |

The stay was reasonable in most aspects, although nothing extraordinary to remark about. The parking is expensive and internet should be free |

Good central position Staff unhelpful on arrival, given a room that was dingy with paper peeling off the wall. After making two complaints we were eventually given a clean modern room. Swimming pool closed on 30.09, very disappointing as the weather was 30 degrees. |

It's a very nice old fashioned luxury hotel. The staff was really helpful, the room was very comfortable, definitively a very good offer. Location superb. |

This hotel was recommended to me for its location which is on the main street of madrid. there are lots of restaurants in the vicinity and the tour bus departs from just across the road. Staff in the lobby area are very attentive I think the four star rating is misleading. We were not greeted on check in and received no offer of assistance with our luggage despite the fact that my mother is elderely. despite advertised as such the room had no tea/ coffee making facilities when I enquired about the lack of these in our room i was told that these facilities were only available in club rooms. i offered to upgrade but no one from the hotel staff made any effort to contact me. We were only there for 4 days so could live with it but i was annoyed about the manner in which we were dismissed. |

Friendly staff and excellent facilities in a great location. The prices in the hotel for drinks etc were a little high in comparison to the rest of Madrid but that would be the only complaint. Prices for food and drinks |

The hotel is in the center of Madrid, directly on one of the main streets Gran Via. We have really slept well, their beds are excellent. Our room was not so big, with old furnishings and deco. The swimming pool on the roof was very cold. |

The roof garden and pool were very good Some of the staff behind the reception were not as helpfull as they could have been. i.e. they gave me vague directions which resulted in me driving around Madrid to return a hire car for an hour and a half before coming back to the hotel and finding out from an other member of staff it was only 500 yards down the road in the opposite direction. |

The best part of this hotel was the rooftop pool. We visited Madrid in August where the weather was on average 35 degrees. It was great to be able to come back to the hotel after a day out and relax by the pool. There were no irons in the room and one could not be sent to the room either. If we wanted to get anything ironed, we would have had to pay house keeping to do it and they charged by the item. It was cheaper for us to go the nearby shopping centre and purchase a travel iron. |

Welcoming, helpful staff, a great location in the heart of the downtown, and a much appreciated large if somewhat shabby rooftop pool. As with most older luxury hotels, it is hard to really feel that one gets true value for the inflated prices paid. |
