Great location, easy access to tour the city. Basic but comfortable rooms. Double glazed windows kept out the noise of the busy area. There is no lobby area so if you arrive early, as we did there was no where for you to wait. Also we had to leave our luggage in a hallway within the hotel. |

Location is perfect! Staff helpful. Free wireless and they have computer you can use. Rooms are very small. Didn't bother us, but if you need a lot of room to move around, this hotel isn't for you. |

The location was superb--just a stones throw from Plaza Mayor but on its own quieter plaza. The rooms were small but clean. The bath shower worked great and there was even a blowdryer. Wireless internet was a great plus so I could plan out my next days touring. It is definitely a budget no frills room but for the location and price, this place can't be beat! I couldn't get my in-room safe to work. It ate my euro coins instead |

The Hostal is located a mere 100m from Plaza Mayor in one direction, and maybe 200m from Sol in the other, so right in the heart of things. Surprisingly quiet with the windows closed given its location. Reception is on 3rd floor - don't mistake with 2nd floor Hostal Santa Cruz. Our room was on the 1st floor, and was quite small, and did not look at all like the pictures shown. Our double room was two twin beds, seperated by a night table - not exactly what we'd had in mind. The beds were extremely cheap and uncomfortable. We room stunk of chemical cleaning products - opening the windows meant listening to the drunks in the square below. We paid 68 euros for the room(Saturday), one of the most expensive places of our 12 city trip... this place is worth more like 40 euro - you're really paying for location, but Madrid has such a fantastic and cheap metro system, I'd recommend staying somewhere much nicer(try Suites Vienna) and metro to Sol |

Too noise during the night; the hostal is not connected to the airport during all the night except the taxis, and the price of the taxi is not too cheap, about 30€! |

The only thing I can say about this hotel is that it was a good location being close to the Plaza Mayor. It reminded me of a youth hostel and though the price was good the room was very small. The towels were so thin you could literally see through them. If they would invest in new towels it would go a long way to improving ones impression of this hotel. |

Lovely dual aspect room, overlooking a square. Very clean room, good shower, and friendly staff. Relatively quiet for Madrid standards, great central location, only a few metres away from Plaza Mayor. The bed wasn't the most comfortable in the world, but for the price, this was expected. |

Central location. Easy Metro ride from airport. Staff polite and helpful. Very small room. Might (not sure) to get a nicer room for the same 52 Euros. This I don't know. |

Excellent location. Well appointed - good shower, hairdryer, lift, a safe in the room, tv, good quality furniture and curtains etc, and recently refurbished so everything was in good condition. We were on a floor mostly used for students who came and went late into the night. The hotel advertises that it gives student discounts so there will always be students there There is little soundproofing so normal comings and goings sounded loud, and the students tended to play music in their rooms. |
