The hotel meets my purpose of stay. (very clean, wide bed, hard mattress, digital TV channels including English, Italian and French)Location is excellent, i.e. 1 min, from subway station, 5 min to SOl. There are many restaurants, shops around the hotel. It is not big problem, but hotel staffs speak only Spanish. |

Hostal Los Alpes difinately exceeded my expecatation. It is situated at the very centre of the city in the midst of a shopping street. Rooms are small but very neat with bed, wardrobe, shower, sink and TV. I stayed in single room and was very surprised compared to other hostel experiences. I really felt like I was staying in a hotel. |

The hostel room was very good, nice and clean and comfortable, far better than many other hostels i have stayed in around the world. The bathroom was of particularily high standard The one major draw back of the hostel was its location, it seems to be located in the ransexual red light district, and the "workers" in this district can cause you major hassle if returning late at night |

This hotel is very centrally located. The lady who runs it is very nice. You get a lot for your money here. I would stay here again. |

Great place! Single rooms have all the facilities you'd expect from a regular hotel, except the size (wich is tiny but more than enough for any single traveler's needs). A bit noisy... |

My room was always spotlessly clean. The shared toilet was always spotlessly clean. There was a safe, TV, & air con. The location is central and in a safe area with a good range of bars & restaurants nearby as well as 2 small shops for provisions. |

Even though the area is a bit noisy (above a main shopping street), the beds, bathroom and closets are very proper. Overall good value for money. Personnel only speaks Spanish. Doesn't accept AMEX. Building is noisy (actually other habitants and neighbours, not the street). |

Location in Old Madrid. Easy access to Puerta del Sol. The staff were helpful in their service, not particularly outgoing or cheerful. I emailed them in English, got no response, called in Spanish and the question was answered. |

I liked the way the staff we're friendly but still offered you a sizeable amount of privacy. I liked the way that the room was cleaned to a very high standard each morning. I also liked the way an email of mine was acted upon when I requested a specific simple room placement even though I didn't pay a fortune for the rooms. Maybe there could have been a cold drinks machine visible so that I didnt have to bother anyone for a cold can....!! |

Very close to the center of town and all major sites. Cheap. It's small (what you get for the money) but it's got all I needed (bed, bath, AC, wall-mount safe) since most of the time I was out sightseeing anyway. Hotel staff did not speak English but I got all the info I needed from the Tourist Information Office. Bathroom has a constant smell so I had to keep the small window open so it doesn't stink up the room. |

thanks a lot to the personal of hotel, they were very welcoming though they don't speak English at all. I recommend this hotel to the people who want to stay in the downtown and don't spend a lot of money. the rroms are not big, but they have aircon and a shower cabin. and a street is very close to museum , shops and metro/bus station. the hotel also provides wi-fi service for free, you just have to ask for login and password. |

I liked the room I stayed (1 room suits) was very clean and modern. Both bed and bathroom items seemed to be quite modern and clean, colour combination is excellent, to me seemed a bit like Scandinavian colour combination (where I am from!) Very comfortable to use and location is excellent, very central. Just outside of the hotel there are lot of constructions going on, so strees were not safe to carry suitscase, and cannot reach there direct with cab. |

The location was great:it was nearby Gran Via,the main artery of the Spanish capital. Air conditioning was functional, which is very important during the madrid summers. However, the Clerk did not speak a word of English. Poor customer service. No phones to use, very poor Internet connection, no radio. Room was very small, not enough closet space. Most frustrating was they couldn't speak English, which made things difficult |

It is very clean, AC and TV in the room, clean bed sheets, new furniture, friendly personnel. Great location. There are lots of small inconveniences - only one bath towel, small bed, etc. but in general what do you want for such a price?! |
