Location of the hotel was good, right next to the metro. Price was a bit too high for a hotel that seemed more 4 stars. |

we arrived at 11am and they checked us in immediately, and also allowed us to keep the room the day we were checking out until 3pm. It was my husbands birthday so they upgraded us to a suite on the level which was amazing.......and they sent up a tray of goodies as a little bonus. The suite was beautiful and the room service was fantastic. Couldn't have chosen a better place for a special weekend |

I liked friendly, helpful and efficient English-speaking staff that made me feel welcome; the room, although not too spacious, was very nice and had a large comfortable bed. Excellent location in a nice neighbourhood, just a few minutes walk from Plaza de Espana and Gran Via, very close to a metro station. I had this incident with my luggage being removed to a remote depository after I left it with the hotel for what turned out to be a little longer than they expected. The hotel staff could not locate it when I needed to collect it, but the suitcase was found and delivered the next morning, no problem. I believe there was a misunderstanding: remember to always advise the hotel staff of when you are planning to collect your baggage.. |

Despite the ugly exterior of this hotel, inside, the Melia Princesa has been recently refurbished and looks great. Very modern and very comfortable. The fantastic location at the foot of the Gran Via makes things even better. Ugly exterior. |

Hotel is very central, 5 min by foot to Plaza Espania and city centre. Metro station Ventura Rodriguez (yellow line) just around the corner. Very helpful staff and clean rooms. Nice breakfast. Overall it was very pleasant staying. Since hotel in the centre it was very noisy, especially Friday night (police cars), plus smell of cigarettes on the lobby was quite strong. |

Free internet, nice room, friendly staff, great breakfast (was not included in the price, though) The walls were a bit thin, you could hear the neighbours speak, watch TV, etc. |

pretty much everything....staff was very helpful and friendly....located near the Grand Via and the Royal Palace but not too crowded neighborhood. Right next to a metro stop! The room reserved claimed to give a view of teh city but was on the second floor. |

Excellent service, the employees are very helpful. At the desk they spoke English very well. Problems were solved very quickly. The service was good too. I could check-in two hours before check-in time without having to ask. The room was clean and had a warm atmosphere (warmer than on the pictures) and felt quite like a normal bedroom. The desk was ideal for my laptop. The internet connexion was very fast. I stayed on the 11th floor and had an amazing view. In the evening it was nice to have a drink at the bar. What I liked about the hotel is that there were not a lot of additional costs. So what you see is what you get. Only the swimming pool has an additional cost. It would be nice if that changed, but not necessary. |

The hotel is centrally located, this is why we selected it, you can walk to "old" city center within 20 minutes. I was surprised that you could hear traffic up on the 18th floor, wasn't bad but you could hear it along with the wind. |

We liked everything about this hotel. Melia does a great job. The rooms were great and very comfortable. Centrally located near Gran Via & metyro, plenty of taxi's when we needed one. Great staff. The pool is indoors and a bit warm and charges unlike other Melias properties. But this one is a winner... Pool charges... |

Helpful staff, well maintained public areas & rooms. Very good choice breakfast, well serviced. Both restaurants closed, though one supposedly open, which difficult in 40 degrees when other local restaurants also closed. Should warn guests that no in-hotel restaurant in 'summer', whenever that means. |

I have stayed in Melia hotels on other places in the world and I have always been impressed wih the service and facilities. This one was no exception: A beautiful and elegant hotel with modern design and comfort. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the design and interior of our room, the kingsize bed was perfectly comfortable, and the hotel has a comfortable location close to Gran Via and the commercial centre of Madrid. With no previous trips to Madrid, we were happy that we canceled our first hotel choise for this weekend in Mardrid, which was close to Puerta del Sol and all the nightlife around. Despite of the city trafic, we heard very little noise from outside or from neighbour rooms. We never tried the 26 euro breakfast menu of the hotel, which was no problem since it was just a short walk to a nearby plaza with plenty of retaurants, serving good spanish breakfast to a fourth of this price. |

Good quiet location but not in real city center. Gym and pool closed on weekends is absurd. Hotel entrance does not reflects a 5 star category. Need to walk several blocks ( 5 + ) to city attractions and center. |

This hotel is conveniently located to reach central areas and staff were helpful in providing advice. It's a very gimmicky hotel and not all the gimmicks work or are practical. For a 5* hotel I would have hoped for a bit more comfort. Pool is bathtub size. Complained about the dirty corridor / room entrance but nothing was done. Only hotel in 3 weeks to charge for ice. |
