The lobby of the hotel The hotel is 5 stars, but I only saw 4 at most. At check-in, the hotel charged me in advance the cost of the room and 50 euros for any consumptions in the minibar. At checkout, the clerk told me that it was not an actual payment, and I had to prove that it had been an actual payment. I didn’t like this procedure. The parking is not in the hotel, it’s a public parking at a location nearby, and it’s necessary to downstairs one floor, without elevator. |

The room was very nice and clean. The location was very good near to the city centre within walking distance. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very expensive (27.50 euros per person!). Spa was also expensive for the quality of services provided. |

Gentle staff. Clean rooms.Perfect location. Even though the breakfast was consisted of a large variety, most of the offered materials (ham, cheese etc.) had very low quality compared to the price of the breakfast(26 Euros per person). Except from the receptionists, the rest of the staff had a very low knowledge of the English language!! |

Very nice room, extremely comfortable bed and excellent big bathroom. Dull view. The clerk in the reception was quite rude and did not speak very good english. Upon arrival we didn't get even a welcome just a "tu passaporte!". |

Spacious room with a wonderful view over the city cetre and Palazzo Reale. In walking distance to the city centre, metro station directly in front of the hotel. 26 € for the breakfast is not reasonable. |

The suit was very nice indeed, however they could not provide a room with a view like advertised. The site had said that there was a view but at check-in I was told that there were no such rooms available as they were full. This had been one of the reason I had chosen the hotel so this was very dissapointing, they did not offer some kind of compensation until I made a big deal out of it. In all, very disappointing from a hotel at this standard. |

Great breakfast, fantastic big room (with jacuzzi). Very good location: a metrostop at the hotel. Shopping and good eating facilities around the hotel. 5 min walk to the plaza d'espagna and 10' to the royal palace. The staf was very helpfull but there knowlidge of he English language is rather limited. For a 5 * hotel the acces to the indoor pool should be free and they should have a movie channel. |

Clean large room. After arriving at 2pm the room was not ready. We waited 90 minutes for the room to be ready. That was crucial time as we had tickets to get the the Real Madrid match. The picture of the bathroom on the website shows a view over the city from the bathroom. Our view was of the back of houses as it was only on the 5th floor. |

Location of the hotel was good, right next to the metro. Price was a bit too high for a hotel that seemed more 4 stars. |

we arrived at 11am and they checked us in immediately, and also allowed us to keep the room the day we were checking out until 3pm. It was my husbands birthday so they upgraded us to a suite on the level which was amazing.......and they sent up a tray of goodies as a little bonus. The suite was beautiful and the room service was fantastic. Couldn't have chosen a better place for a special weekend |

I liked friendly, helpful and efficient English-speaking staff that made me feel welcome; the room, although not too spacious, was very nice and had a large comfortable bed. Excellent location in a nice neighbourhood, just a few minutes walk from Plaza de Espana and Gran Via, very close to a metro station. I had this incident with my luggage being removed to a remote depository after I left it with the hotel for what turned out to be a little longer than they expected. The hotel staff could not locate it when I needed to collect it, but the suitcase was found and delivered the next morning, no problem. I believe there was a misunderstanding: remember to always advise the hotel staff of when you are planning to collect your baggage.. |

Despite the ugly exterior of this hotel, inside, the Melia Princesa has been recently refurbished and looks great. Very modern and very comfortable. The fantastic location at the foot of the Gran Via makes things even better. Ugly exterior. |

Hotel is very central, 5 min by foot to Plaza Espania and city centre. Metro station Ventura Rodriguez (yellow line) just around the corner. Very helpful staff and clean rooms. Nice breakfast. Overall it was very pleasant staying. Since hotel in the centre it was very noisy, especially Friday night (police cars), plus smell of cigarettes on the lobby was quite strong. |

pretty much everything....staff was very helpful and friendly....located near the Grand Via and the Royal Palace but not too crowded neighborhood. Right next to a metro stop! The room reserved claimed to give a view of teh city but was on the second floor. |
