pool was lovely. breakfast excellent. Air conditioning actually worked in bedroom fantastic. Quiet -not woken by other guests Bar service almost non existent. would have been good to have information available as to what was available in the evenings in the locality and city. Music on the terrace in the evenings would have encouraged its use as an outside area and would bring ambiance- also would have meant the bar staff could earn their money! |

The room was nice, good breakfast and price. The possibility of having a hotel with a swimming pool close to Plaza Colon. The swimming pool. Many things are old and broken (chairs etc.) and should be changed. There is no bar close to the pool. |

Reception staff were friendly, courteous and very helpful They all spoke excellent English. We paid extra for a larger double room, which waswell worth the extra cost. It was spacious, well appointed, very comfortable with efficient air-conditioning. The bathroom was large, very well equipped and a joy to use! We did not take breakfast which was inordinately expensive ( although apparently good). The hotel was quiet at night, but nonetheless well situated in a good area from which access to Gran Via, Sol, Retiro, museums etc. was very easy. However,we had expressly booked this hotel because of its advertised swimming-pool. Uponarrival, we found that the pool was closed. It did not open until the afternoon of !st July, half-way through our stay. This substantially detracted from our holiday enjoyment, and in our view amounted to something of a "con.". The entry on your web-site portfolio of hotels gives no warning that this might occur. In any event, the room cost obviously includes an element in respect of advertised hotel facilities, including the pool. The public are being deceived. There should be clear warning both by you and the hotel itself that the pool may not be open before 1st July and after 1st September.I would not have booked this hotel at the advertised cost if I had known that I would not have use of the pool for several days of my stay. Yes; lack of swimming-pool facility ( see above). |

The hotel was very close to city centre and in a nice area itself. The reception staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The buffet breakfast was good! The mini bar was free the weekend we were there, though we didn't find out about this until checkout! The pool wasn't open - it was the first weekend of June and temperatures in the 40's but the pool only opens July and August - why?!! Also that we didn't know about free mini bar until checking out..:) |

The location is great. Near to plaza Colon, to the metro, fine restaurants, shops and the glamorous "bairro Salamanca". Very central to see all Madrid. The rooms are very quiet. The rooms are a little bit small for a four star hotel. |

Buen precio. Necesita una renovación, está un poco viejo. |

This sophisticated hotel offers impressive design and an excellent location on Madrid’s main street of Gran Vía. The large outdoor terrace has superb views of the city centre. |
Set in the upmarket business district around Calle Serrano and Plaza de Color, this hotel blends an attractive, 19th-century setting with 21st-century technology. |
The Gran Hotel Velazquez is well located in the Salamanca neighbourhood of Madrid. This commercial area is a short walk from the Retiro Park and Cibeles. |
The Catalonia Centro is a charming hotel located in the Salamanca district, in Goya street where you will find the best restaurants and boutiques, as well as the most important companies. |
