Great location for exploring Madrid in bustling area yet still quiet enough at night. The room was small but comfortable so made for a great weekend trip. On arrival the room was very hot but after opening the window for a short time this did improve and didn't cause a major problem for the rest of the stay. |

The breakfast was very good. lots of variety compared to other hotels we have stayed in throughout europe.staff not that friendly on the desk. one staff female member was fantastic.location was near station and close to the main street. wlaking distance to most attraction. taxi ride from airport aprx 25euro. staff could be more accomodating to your requests and friendly. we waited 10mins on check in until the staff finished their private joke and conversation before speaking or noticing us in front of them. just ignored us. we were tired and sick. and just wanted to get into our room. found people in madrid not helpful to tourists. more we were a pain.... |

The location is really perfect. Just minutes to walk to Palacio Real, Gran Via and main shopping streets. Although we had DBL comfort room, that was pretty small, I really liked it, it was cosy, quiet, had a nice bathroom and all neceassry amenities, LCD TV, and the bed was totally OK. There was a good choice at breakfast: fresh juice, some kinds of cheese, good bread, deserts, fresh fruits. To change carpets in some rooms |

the main reason i picked this hotel was the closness to the teatro real, which was perfect located. normally in a 4staraccommodation it should be possible to have your breakfast in your room.for the charged 20(!) euro i only got a very poor unsubstantional breakfast .at least you should serve the requested items,im my case a bit of cheese and muesli plus bread. .telling me ,it had to be charged extra,is an irony in itself.35.euro for a breakfast? not even in the ritz.i also had to ask for the equipment to boil water, the waiter arrived,i wanted to give him a tip,but he tried to charge me with 6 euros, because i asked him to open a bottle.this is very petty.and unworthy for a good hotel. |

The staff were very pleasant and obliging. The room met all our requirements. The breakfast was acceptable and plentiful. The hotel is old and in need of maintenance - we had to change rooms because neither the hairdryer nor the safe worked. I would probably classify it as a 3 star rather than a 4 star hotel. |

I loved the location, right in the center of things, the staff was very helpful, friendly, and spoke English. I would definitely recommend it. It had many old paintings but unfortunately we ran out of time to actually enjoy them - will have to go back! |

Cosy hotel very well located: close to Porta del Sol area without being in the noisy and tourist/botellon places. Nearby tube station. The staff was competent and nice. Far too hot heating wise in bedrooms and corridors and too cold in the lobby and breakfast dining room. Small bedrooms (although very clean and cosy). Breakfast did not include toasts (only fresh indvidual breads). |

Our room was kind of cramped and the bed was really very small. my foot was always off the bed (i'm 1.92cm but normally dont have bed problem in other hotels). The room service knocked on the door every morning at around 9.00 which was annoying. The temperature inside the room was always high. |

We stayed in the new part of the hotel, it was very modern! The room was very plush and comfortable, we were facing into the inside of the building so it was nice and quiet. Nice buffet breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, beautiful!!! I was happy that we did not stay in the older part of the hotel as it a completely different style, everything is much more traditional. but perhaps the bedrooms were just as nice as ours! |

Very quiet room with comfortable beds towards a tiny garden. Superb and fresh breakfast, although the coffemachine had not enough capacity and created a queue. Very hot in the room without anywhere to lower the temperature. |

general welcome, and room cleanliness with all equipments for the bathroom I am going regularly to this hotel, and am always surprised with the high temperature inside the room (even in winter), without possibility to dxcrease it. The only way I have found is to keep the window open during diner time, and to hope it will not be warming up to quickly. It is not possible to leave the window open during the night since, even this time where I was at the 4rth floor, it is very noisy (generally the hotel is badly protected against noise) |
