35 Euro for the night, in a great location, clean and aesthetically pleasing room. There are three other hostals within one block for the next time I go to Madrid. (Hostal Santa Cruz was one, I don't remember the names of the others). When we got there we had to fill out a sheet with our personal information (including passport info). The sheet was all in English, but at the bottom there was a paragraph in Spanish that said your information will be sold to marketing companies and others unless you check the box. If it weren't for my girlfriend, who speaks Spanish, I would not have checked the box. This is incredibly underhanded and a despicable business practice. Also, they were not friendly, internet did not work, the TV had only two or three stations that worked, the bed was very uncomfortable (only one rock hard long pillow for a double) and it was noisy when we got there in the afternoon, when I woke up at two in the morning, and when I woke up the next day. |

The location is really great, close to the Plaza Mayor but still not too noisy. The room was small (for 4 beds), but functional and very clean. There was always someone at the reception who was ready to answer questions or give advice. Internet was working well. Only a minor issue: it had no breakfast room - I didn't know that from the description on the site. |

It is very central, close to the city and the metro. Very clean and staff are very helpful. The rooms are very small and if you are more than a 34" waist you may have a problem getting in and out of the shower. I would say a little over priced for a hostel with basic facilities. |

The location was fantastic and the staff was very nice. It was very noisy, but more from other guests inside the building, not outside. |

Excellent location, right on the Plaze Mayor! Guy at the front desk was really nice and helpful. Air conditioning worked very well. No parking, nearest car-park charged 30euros a night for parking the car there. |

we enjoyed the central location of it. minutes from major city plazas and subways. easy to walk and explore madrid without any difficulty. the price was reasonable and affordable for students or for those who spend more time outside then at the hotel. small rooms size. |

Very friendly and helpful staff & great location- very near the Plaza Mayor. Clean room. Other guests were extremely noisy in the early hours of the morning- slamming doors, dragging luggage up/down steps and speaking very loudly. Extra is charged for the air-conditioning but the fee was waived because this was not stated in the publicity. The room was a bit too small for one person. |

The hostel is very well located in the center of the city. That you have to pay extra for air condition. they should at least offer a ventilator instead. |

Location, just a few steps from Plaza Mayor. The extra charges not disclosed at the time of booking: 5 euros a day for air conditioning; 3 euros for continental breakfast; not sure how much for use of a safe. No hair dryer. |

Hostal is located very close to the centre of the city and there are a lot of restaurants in that area/ The price does't include control for condition, we had to pay extra 6 euro per day. This information should be include in terms of booking/ |

Very good location, 10 meters from the Plaza Mayor. 5 min from Metro. Shops and restaurants are nearby. The staff are friendly. Air conditioning charges an extra of 6 euros/day. Very small room. Sound insulation is not very good. The electric power has to be turned off while you are away so you can't charge your electronic devices while you are not in the room. |
