it was clean and tidy, very well located and for the first time ever the bed was comfy!!! would have prefered somekind of a lobby/bar area to relax in rather than having to spend all my time at the hotel in my room |

Location was very good, although a few prostitutes were in the very same street of the hotel, just at the corner. Room was very small for a double room. Cleanliness was ok but overpowered by the strongest bleach smell ever. Also, the insulation was terrible and the hotel was very loud: cleaning lady at 8 in the morning banging the doors etc... Bed was very uncomfortable and shower was very tiny. |

I liked its location- although it was close to the very center of the city, it was quiet, i could not hear the noise from the streets. Otherwise, cheap but fear |

A nice, clean place and very good value. Staff spoke English and were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again, no problem. |

Staff was very reluctant to issue a receipt after I paid cash. The posted rate is misleading in that there are additional charges for air conditioning, a key to the room safe, etc. Eventhough there were locks on the door, security cameras, etc. I did not feel safe with all of the signs indicating that the hotel is not responsible for anything not kept in the room safe. It is impossible to keep all valuables in a small safe. |

Hard to think of anything... This is the worst place I stayed over the last couple of years. The price was very close to what I paid in hotels in Madrid but the quality of service and facilities was shockingly low: internet was't working (neither cable nor wify) although it said it's going to be free, window was going out on a square 4x4 m, when I opened the windows I could only smell kebab from a place downstairs, there was not phone in the room I orignally moved in (reportedly some stole it :-O !!!), last evening I could not check-out because of a problem with the terminal although the crew was persistenyl saying "it is because of the card - she is wrong". I could probably goon further. |

The proximity of all you need to see and do is ideal. The metro station is 3mins away and 2euro to the airport, whao! Luis at the desk was a great help to me, thanks. The rooms as everyone will tell you are quite small, I wasnt in the room long enough for it to bother me, however, the shower is minute, I had to lather up outside of the shower it was so small and compact and tight!! Go across the road to Matador for great beer and tapas. |

The location is perfect. It is right at the city center. Clean. Staff are nice and cooperative. Rooms are very small. I have never seen such a small room in my life. Air conditioning is for fees. Walla are so thin you hear everything outside and in rooms nearby. I could not have even one night of good sleep. |

It was central & convenient for what I wanted to do in Madrid. My room was hot & a steady droan of (I think) air conditioners during the night. The warmth was I suspect from the air conditioners in the light well alongside my window. |

location & friendliness. Also, they stowed our luggage for us the next day. Room was so small we could not walk around the bed -- had to climb over it. It was basically a small dorm room with no view. |

location location location, thats it!!! Nothing else.. Service was poor, staff only refold towels and one day there was water in the bathroom made by the cleaning staff. After spoken to reception, the guy came and wiped cleaned it. So many dust around the floor, rooms are too small and no windows for fresh air.. Air cond is 6 Euros per day. Please read Terms and Conditions closely. |

I have never bothered to review anywhere but want to strongly recommend this hotel. It was the best value for money I have ever gotten. I had a single room for 4 nights for €144. The room was small but it was purpose built with alll space utilised extremely well with sliding door on the ensuite and shower to increase space. The whole building was extremely clean and bright. The staff were unbelieveably helpful and courteous both at reception and the cleaning staff. I would fully recommend Hostal Tijcal II to any lone travellers. |

The location is great!!!! its noisy but thats the madri nightlife. We brang some ear plugs and we could sleep with no problem. Fridays and saturdays night are a bit more problematic but you are 5min from everithing in madrid!!!! if i come back to madri for sure i will stay in this hotel!!!!!!! The guy at the reception was rude at the first contact, buhatt we realised ts the madrid way. They are like that, in the restaurants, pubs, bars there is no scape actually. |

The hotel was basic, the room was small but clean. Great location and overall good value. Ideal for those travelling on a budget. |
