The building consists of a ground floor and four other floors, all of which are joined by a skylight that has remained an important part of the original construction, although it has been renovated and modernised. Thank to this feature, the entire hotel in illuminated.

The hotel is located at the beginning of Rua del Villar, a street that connects to the unique romantic door that has been preserved at the Cathedral. Rua del Villar has been mentioned in medieval books as “Valle Milvorum o Vilare Milvorum. It is a fact that to the end of the Ninth Century, the first Ourives shops were setting up in Rua Vilar, very popular among the high class pilgrims and rich businessmen, which were increasingly visiting Santiago.
As time past, the Rua del Villar had consolidated as an accommodation for high class people (city people) and house the Town Council.
