The room was spacious and the bathroom was a delight with all the imaginable amenities. although breakfast was not included in my original reservation, once I got there it was mandatory and was charged for it. It is quite expensive and very poor. |

The restaurant, the comfortable indoor and outdoor seating in beautiful surroundings, the courtyards, the glass bar and the fabulous breakfast. Were not offered the 1928 special offer menu in the restaurant. No children's facilities- play area etc. |

I liked the fantastic historic building and the Cathedral square setting. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Parking was not available at the hotel but that is a price to pay for an historic setting. The food varied from indifferent to inedible and so completely destroyed the 5 star rating. |

the sense of history, the comfortable public spaces, the courtyards, the excellent breakfast in a pleasant room, wuietly and efficiently served our room was very dark but this is inevitable given the age of the building and the choice of furnishings to reflect the period in history |

We enjoyed staying in a very historical building right next to the cathedral. Just wandering through the four courtyards, chapel etc and looking out over the cathedral square from balconies was special. The room was very comfortable and luxurious and very quiet overlooking one of the courtyards. Staff very helpful. Had to queue for a long time on the stairs for breakfast because the dining room was full. Don't expect this in hotel of this type. |

I was in the center of most of the historical points of interest, easy walk to everything we wanted to see. This hotel also has a lot of activities that take place(concerts, etc) at no extra charge. difficult to get to the main door because it faces a plaza full of tourists |

Beautiful building - felt like stepping into a fairytale. Very impressive style but at the same time warm and welcoming. Lovely courtyards and living areas to wander through and relax in. Delicious breakfast. Stunning location, in the heart of town, a stone's throw from plenty of lovely cafes, tapas bars and restaurants and righ next to the cathedral. No view from our room at all, but we didn't mind, given the beautiful surroundings of the hotel. |

Fabulous location right next to the Cathedral. Excellent breakfast, very good choice of restaurants, Cafeteria, Casual restaurant and a first class gourmet restaurant with good choice of wine. Beatifully appointed reading room and Cafeteria and adjoining lounge of palatial proportions. Its an old building so you can expect some floor board creaks but really I am nit picking. |

Plus points were the great city-centre location, impressive historic building, excellent buffet breakfast, huge public rooms. Dark bedroom with very dated decor. Reguested double bed was not available. Formulaic approach to service, felt very impersonal. |

Enrique, the concierge was incredible. He should be named General Manager. For him there was nothing impossible. Among other things, he sent us to Lisbon with the best driver-guide in A Corcega. the room was somewhat small and the bath much too small!!! |

Hotel was in unbelievable location and was first class in every respect. The ambience of 500 years was well preserved, with a nice injection of luxury and comfort...and world class cuisine. May be a bit pricey for some, but well worth the experience at least once. A real treasure. Parking was expensive...parked in a different parking garage only a few minutes away for nearly half the cost of the Parador. |

Gorgeous large bathroom, fine bed linen, breakfast buffet to die for! Beautiful courtyards and public areas. Pity there was no swimming pool! The room could have been more spacious without some of the large furniture pieces, like the TV cupboard. |

Excellent location, luxurious decor, comfortable rooms.Great selection for breakfast but not too quick at replenishing.Ask for room with nice view or you might end up looking out to alleyway next to hotel. To have a view of the Plaza you must book a suite.Restaurant very expensive but plenty of eating places around specialising in seafood.Staff friendly and helpful. |

This is a hotel with a lot of history in easily the best location in Santiago. The hotel is huge and so are the rooms! It's well worth the money if you get the special deal for under 35's! (Not sure if I would pay much more though). Great breakfast buffet, in a room with views over the Cathedral and Plaza del Obradoiro (if you can get a table by the window!). The rooms could do with a bit more upkeep! A few wooden fittings were broken and the door between the bathroom and bedroom didn't close at all! Also, being an old building (500 years+) the plumbing is understandibly a bit dodgy which occasionaly makes odd noises and as a result the toilets smell a bit! |
