Friendly staff, beautiful setting, They modernized the cloister a little too much. The pool was closed the whole time we were there. |

Excellent location with very friendly and helpful staff. Really enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and free internet use where we were able to print our flight boarding tickets. |

The staff was amazing!! Incredibly helpful and generous. The building has been beautifully renovated while maintaining the feel of the religious institution. The design is very austere but true to the Convent feel. |

New, well appointed, spacious rooms. Close and convenient to main tourist sights of Santiago. Built into former monestary with interesting interior and public spaces. Great indoor pool and jacuzzi. Helpful front desk. Good value, compares well to the nearby Parador (stayed at both places) and half the Parador price. Would highly recommend and a great choice for a visit to Santiago. |

Location, almost right beside the cathedral, was terrific. Hotel itself was wonderfully restored and spacious. Swimming pool a great attraction. Showers were a little difficult to operate. |

The fact that the hotel is part of a real prehistoric monument and kept in this style, but with all modern comfort makes it a very pleasent stay |

We visited all the places of historical interest in Santiago, ate excellent meals (good value) and enjoyed cafe life in the evenings with the vast numbers of pelligrinos who had completed the camino. We relaxed during the heat of the day in the tranquil hotel, reading in the courtyards with a drink; swimming in the pool etc. No! The staff were friendly and efficient; our room was spacious, spotless and quite. Breakfast was excellent and there were many confortable places to relax. |

Air of tranquility and peacefulness. Efficient courteous staff. Modern, minimalist decor, using good quality furnishings but retaining the ecclesiastical feel with some well designed stained glass windows. Excellent refurbishmnet of a convent building. Brilliant pool and grounds. Many different areas to sit and read. Ideal for us, mature couple ( architect and Designer) |

The history and atmosphere, really unusual venue, beautiful gardens. There was a peaceful atmosphere. I liked the central location to the old town, just a few minutes walk from the cathedral. My bedroom was very spacious and everything was immaculately clean. The staff at reception were very helpful. It was not always easy to obtain service in the cafeteria as staff were not always present, however they would come if telephoned from reception. |

the hotel is the former convent established by St. Francis of Assisi in the 11th century. It is beautiful and very special. One gentleman at the reception gave me incorrect information on a variety of issues, including sending me to the tourist info office for stamps (they didn't have) refusing to make a dinner reservation, insisting that we didn't need one, and we ended up waiting an hour (we were fortunate to get in at all, as they almost turned us away) & he gave us incomplete information about trains to Portugal, and knew nothing about bus service (I was easily able to find out on line and the schedule was better than the trains) These issues in no way diminished my opinion of the hotel as a whole, but I expected the staff to be better trained at a nice hotel like the San Francisco. |

The location is excellent just 200 yards from the cathedral and the hotel is a very clever and tasteful conversion of the historical monastery. The public areas are delightful and they display the excavated ruins of the original church under plate glass tiles in the floor. Rooms have restricted natural light but that is unavoidable in such an old building. The room was very comfortable and spacious with a magnificent bathroom. We were put of by the price and location of breakfast so didnt sample it and found cafes fro breakfast very close by. A great experience |

Great central location 10 Euros per hour for a clothes iron to press rucksack crumpled pilgrims clothes is ludicrous. Especially in a city where neither pilgrims or rucksack luggage are rare. |
