For the price I would say this was more 2 or 3 star quality, great breakfast and again a lot more than i expected for a 1 star, and toiletries in the bathroom, a lift and very close to the tourist areas, very clean and great staff. |

Excellent greeting from friendly reception staff.I arrived early but was allowed to book in as our room was ready.Knowledgeable about local sights and facilities.Good sized room at the rear of the hotel which had a view over the rooftops to the hills outside Santiago. |

The cleanliness of a hotel room and bathroom are very important, it goes a very long way to ensuring your stay is relaxed and enjoyable - room B103 at the Avenida was absolutely spotless. When you can see dust and grime around it makes to wonder about a lot of other things, so I was glad this was not an issue anywhere in the hotel. The staff were always helpful and friendly too. The room was a little cooler than I'd like but the weather had v recently changed so perhaps that was part of the problem. I couldn't see a thermosat in the room to alter the room temp myself. However I wasn't in the room long enough for it to be a real problem, otherwise I would have talked to the hotel staff. |

Spacious and clean and staff were responsive Would have liked tea/coffee facilities in the room but I realise this is amore a British rather than a European practice |

The hotel staff were very helpful. I sent my backpack ahead of time and they looked after that for me. When we ended up with an extra person in the room, they easily accommodated the request. When I needed to make a phone call to locate a person staying in another hotel during the same time, they were there to help. These extra services are very valuable when you are a stranger to a new place and I appreciated them very fondly. |

Short 5 min walk to main square and Cathedral in Santiago, helpful staff.Good continental breakfast included. All twin rooms face busy street which can be noisy but shutter doors onto little balcony area can be closed which helped. |

The staff were helpful and pleasant and the room and bathroom both a generous size. Our room was at the front of the hotel and extremely noisy from the bar next door between midnight and around 5am, but with no air conditioning it was too hot to leave the windows closed. We stayed on Friday and Saturday nights so perhaps the worst nights for noise. |

Very central location in an amazing city, great for visiting the old town or as a base to visit other parts of Galicia; the building is ancient stone, but rooms quite chic and very smart. |

nice hotel, quite rooms on the roof If you are like me a peregrino it is too expensive, you can have a singel room ( Hostal Estela) opposite the Parador Hotel in front of the church for half price! Breakfast very poor, staff was surprised when i asked for actual newspaper, you just can read 1-2 days old. |

Centrical location, helpful staff, big rooms, nicely renovated building Located on an extremely busy ring road around the old town so lots of traffic and noise day and night. Very poor breakfast (no variation, lowest quality), no airco in the room ( opening the window is no options since it means lots of streetnoise), |

The hotel was centrally placed, very close to the old town and the staff were friendly. Basic standard, clean oand friendly. The room was initally equiped for just one person, plus smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Quite thin walls, bring ear plugs. |

I liked how central the hotel was, being so close to the old town and the cathedral in particular. I also like the fact that breakfast was included in the price. I think the price could be a bit more competetive. I stayed in similar standard hotels in both Bilbao and Oviedo (also very central) for considerably less. |

the soundproofing in the hotel was abysmal,we wrer kept awake on 2 nights by people pacing about in the room upstairs and had to complain.staff just told us the hotel was an "old building" which was a pretty poor excuse |
