Hotel Avenida

Zeer behulpzaam personeel, kamer schoon maar eenvoudig.

Het hotel ligt zeer centraal, op twee straten verwijderd van alle restaurantjes en op een paar honderd meter van de historische stad. De kamer is heel netjes, ruim en we kregen de kamer zoals gevraagd: met twinbedden en aan de achterzijde van het hotel. De achterzijde kiezen is heel belangrijk, omdat het hotel langs een heel drukke smalle straat ligt en achteraan hoor je werkelijk niets van al dat drukke gedoe. Het ontbijt is zeer eenvoudig, in buffetvorm en je hebt echt wel voldoende. Er is geen ijskast. De badkamer is netjes, bad/douche, lavabo, zeepjes en shampoo zijn beschikbaar. De handdoeken waren kraakwit, alles perfect onderhouden. Parkeergelegenheid aan ong 11 euro per dag op plaza de Galicia, op 300 m van het hotel.

uitstekende locatie aan de rand van de oude kern, loopafstand van spoor en bussen, vriendelijkheid en kennis van de receptie, zeer oplettend en gastvrij personeel, sanitair,

ontbijtbuffet was redelijk maar mag best iets uitgebreider (nu bv maar 1 soort jam), mijn zolderkamertje op de 4e etage was schuin en deels vrij laag; ik ben 2 meter en kon in 40% van de kamer niet rechtop staan. om alleen te slapen echter geen probleem.

Behulpzaamheid van het personeel, nieuwe kamers en schoon

Aan de voorkant van het hotel lag een drukke straat, waardoor je niet met de ramen open kon slapen

For the price I would say this was more 2 or 3 star quality, great breakfast and again a lot more than i expected for a 1 star, and toiletries in the bathroom, a lift and very close to the tourist areas, very clean and great staff.

The cleanliness of a hotel room and bathroom are very important, it goes a very long way to ensuring your stay is relaxed and enjoyable - room B103 at the Avenida was absolutely spotless. When you can see dust and grime around it makes to wonder about a lot of other things, so I was glad this was not an issue anywhere in the hotel. The staff were always helpful and friendly too.

The room was a little cooler than I'd like but the weather had v recently changed so perhaps that was part of the problem. I couldn't see a thermosat in the room to alter the room temp myself. However I wasn't in the room long enough for it to be a real problem, otherwise I would have talked to the hotel staff.

The hotel staff were very helpful. I sent my backpack ahead of time and they looked after that for me. When we ended up with an extra person in the room, they easily accommodated the request. When I needed to make a phone call to locate a person staying in another hotel during the same time, they were there to help. These extra services are very valuable when you are a stranger to a new place and I appreciated them very fondly.

Very central location in an amazing city, great for visiting the old town or as a base to visit other parts of Galicia; the building is ancient stone, but rooms quite chic and very smart.

Good access to town cathedral and eating

Expensive, very noisy from main road outside, small rooms, no chairs, small bathroom. Budget hotel at a 4 star price.

Ideal location on the edge of the old town. Sensitively modernised old buildings. Staff speak excellent English.
